October 25, 1939 The regular meeting of the Planning Commission was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by the secretary. Members present: Wilson, DeBritton, Overmyer, Overacker, Furr; and Mr. G. M. Parks, Planning Engineer. Members absent: Koppl, Terry, McDonald, Elliott. On motion by Overacker seconded by DeBritton, Wilson was appointed chairman pro-tem. Minutes The secretary read the minutes of the last regular meeting. There being no errors, corrections or omissions, the minutes stood approved as read. After some discussion the secretary wgs directed to write Koppl, McDonald and Terry to the effect that their presence was needed at the meetings especially in view of the fact that the commission has employed a planning engineer for a period of six months. Petition Mr. Stearns, a resident of Los Angeles and property owner in Huntington Beach, filed a petition signed by a number of property owners requesting that the proposed zoning southerly and easterly of -Frankfort Street be abandoned for the reason that property owners wished to hold their property open for oil drilling. The petition was ordered filed. Mr. Parks - Mr. Parks presented and explained a proposed master plan and informed the members that the first duty for the planning commission will 'be to adopt and submit to the City Council a7oG�s,� 'Staa-plan; that this master plan should feature proposed 44 ,highways leading to and from the beach and to the congested areas. He recommended that the city engineer prepare at once a USE map. Engineer Overmyer stated that he would have this map prepared in the near future and submit same to Mr. Parks. Zone The secretary was directed to prepare and submit to Mr. map Parks a business zone map together with ordinances creating same.
