MINUTES
Council Chamber, City Hall,
Huntington Beach, Calif.
December 14, 1939
Pursuant to adjournment of November 27th, the
Huntington Beach Planning Commission was called -to order
at 7:30 P.-M. by Chairman Wilson.
Members present: Terry, DeBritton, Elliott, Wilson, Furr
and.Consulting Engineer Parks.
TAinutes Minutes for the month of November were approved as
read.
The secretary read letters from the Chamber of Com-
Ocean Ave. merce and from the City Clerk of the City of Huntington
renamed. Beach, relative to the renarping of Ocean Avenue and, on
motion by DeBritton seconded by Terry, the Commission
voted unanimously in favor of the name "Pacific Coast
Highway". The secretary was directed to so notify the
Chamber of Commerce and the City Council.
Zoning Engineer Parks discussed with the members, the matter
beach front. of zoning the beachfront against buildings closer than a
given distance from high tide line, also relative to park-
ing and its relation to the beach and suggested that it
might be a good plan to zone a strip along the easterly
side of Ocean Avenue between First Street and the south-
easterly city limits.
No action was taken by the commission but it was
Zoning decided to direct the secretary to invite the City Council
to meet with the Planning Commission and discuss zoning and
other matters at 7:30 P.M. Wednesday, January 3, 1940.
On motion by DeBritton, seconded by Terry, the
Commission adjourned.

There being no quorum present, the secretary ad-
journed the meeting of the Huntington Beach Planning
Commission to 7:30 P.M. January 3, 194o.
