Council Chamber, City Hall,
Huntington Beach, California
2:30 P.M., Monday, Feb. 9, 1940
Pursuant to adjournment of February 5th, the City Council
met at 2:30 P.M. -
Councilmen present: Morehouse, Chamness, Henrickson, Talbert.
Councilmen absent: McCallen.
Councilman Chamness On motion by Henrickson seconded by Talbert, Chamness was
mayor pro-tem
appointed mayor pro-tem.
Bids on reconst- This being the time set by the City Council for opening and
ruction of pier
examining bids for the reconstruction of the municipal pier with
its appurtenances in the City of Huntington Beach, California, the
Clerk opened and read the following bids:
Elliott, Stroud, Seabrook, 533 Rives strong Bld.g._,.Los Angeles,
$37,885.00, bid was accompanied by surety bond in the amount -of 10% '
of the bid.
Warren Southwest, Inc., 2145 East 25th St.., Los Angeles'.
$49,350.00, bid was accompanied by financial statement and cashier's

check in the amount of $3,000.00.
California Gunite Company, Inc., 111 West Victory Blvd., Burbank,
California, $45,968.00, bid was accompanied by financial statement and
surety bond in the amount of $2400.00.
E. G. Perham and Wm. T. Loesch, 1128 Stearns Drive, Los An eles,
$38,375.00, bid was accompanied by surety bond in the amount of U500.00.
R. E. Campbell, 711 Central Bldg., Los Angeles, $37,937.00, bid
was accompanied by surety bond in the amount of $3000.00.
Ansco Construction Company, Inc., 2725 Atlantic Blvd., Long
Beach, California, $40,900.00, bid was accompanied by surety bond in'
the amount of $5000.00.
Case Construction Company, Inc., Berth 109.,..San..Pedro, Calif-
ornia, $41,547.00, bid was accompanied by surety bond in the amount
of $5 000.00.
Macco Construction Company, 815 Paramount..Blvd..,.Cle.arwater,
California, $40,200.00, bid was accompanied by surety bond.in the
amount of $3000.00.
Bids taken under On motion by Henrickson seconded by Talbert, the above named
advisement bids, were taken under advisement until next meeting of the City
Council at 7:30 P.M., Monday, February 19, 1940.
Deposit check On motion by Henrickson seconded by Morehouse, the City'Cle rk
returned to Warren •
Southwest, Inc. was authorized and directed to return 'cashier°s deposit ehe"ck in
the amount of $3000.00 to Warren Southwest, Inc., and that -their
bid be rejected:
On motion by Talbert seconded by Renrickson, the Council
adjourned until 7:30 P.M., Monday, February 19, 1940.
