Tuesday, September 24th, 1940
-Pursuant to adjournment of September 23rd, the City Council met
and was called to order at 5:45 P.M. by Mayor Mc Callen.
Councilmen.present; Talbert, Morehouse, McCallen.
Councilmen absent; Chamness, Grable.
Lease Mayor McCallen stated that he had called on Ray Yakura, lessee of
the city°s 44 acres more or less, upon which is located the city's
sewage disposal plant and that the lessee would present figures of
cost for cancelling the lease on Friday, September 27th. Same to be
left in, the office of the City Clerk.
JAmerican The Clerk -presented and read a proposed lease from the City to the
`Aircraft Co.
American Aircraft Company covering its 44 acres sewage plant site, where-
upon the following motion was made by Councilman Talbert; "That the Mayor
and City Clerk be authorized to execute the above named lease and deposit
\ same with .the City Clerk to be delivered to the lessee upon termination
of the lease agreement between the City of Huntington Beach and Ray Yakura
dated November 28; 1938,; with the provision that the lease between the
City and the American Aircraft Company be executed by their duly authorized
officials." Motion seconded by Councilman Morehouse, put and carried
unanimously.
Sewage Disposal On motion by Morehouse seconded by Talbert, the City Engineer was

directed to prepare a description of the five acres included in the above
named tract and to be reserved for the sewage disposal plant operation
and present same to the City Attorney and City Council.
On motion by Talbert seconded by Morehouse, the Council adjourned.
