The Mayor inquired if there were any in the
audience who desired to make objection to the assess-
ments as made by the Assessor. 'Mr. S.E.Cole, owner
of Blocks 2407 and 2408, East Side Villa Tract, said
that the assessment on his property had been raised
last year, and that he was getting no service from
the City for the money he paid as taxes. It was
determined that there had been no raise in assessed
value for several years, and that streets in his
district were to be'improved. Mr. Cole then had no
further objection.
The City Assessor presented and read letter from
Theodore R. Off, for the Los Feliz Investment Company,
stating assessments on Lot 18,.Block 303, and on Lots
21, 22, 23 and 24, Block 612, were too high. On motion
by Chamnees seconded by Grable, the Clerk was Instruct-
ed to write Mr. Off:that the Board did not believe the
lots to be overassessed, and that the values placed on
these properties were in line with other assessments.
The City Assessor read letter from Miss Aldine
Hall, relative to assessed values on Lots 20 and 21, Bl-
ock 1002, Vista Del Mar Tract and Lot 22, Block 303,
Huntington Beach Tract. Miss Hall stated she had been
trying to sell the lots for less than the assessed
value and had been unable to do so. On motion by
Talbert seconded by Chamness, the Clerk was instruct-
ed to write Miss Hall to the effect that assessments
r
1
on her properties were in line with other assessments
and that no reduction would be made.

seconded by Grable, and the Assessment Roll was de—
