Tuesday, March loth, 1942, the City Council met and was called to order at 10:00 A.M. March 11, 1942, by Mayor McCallen. The Clerk informed the Council that he had checked the petition submitted by Ruth A. Rohrig, 2502 Delaware, Wm. Adair, 606 Main Street, and Harry T. Groves, 225 Crest Avenue, and was ready to submit the Clerk's certificate. Whereupon, the Clerk presented and read Certi- ficate of the City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, California, to the effect that the above mentioned petition was signed by less than the requisite number of registered, qualified electors of Huntington Beach, or a total of less than 10% of said qualified -,To electors. No action was taken by the City Council. The.City Council agreed to meet at 7:30 P. M. Monday, March 23, 1942. On motion by Talbert seconded by Ienrickson, the City Council adjourned until 4:00 o'clock P. M. Wednesday, March 11, 1942. City Clerk and ex-officio Clerk of the City Council. Wednesday, March 11, 1942 and was called to order by the City Clerk. Councilmen present: Talbert,. Henrickson, Morehouse. Councilmen absent: McCallen, Grable. l Henrickson - On motion by Talbert seconded by Morehouse, Councilman Henrickson was Mayor pro-tem appointed chairman and mayor pro-tem. Supplemental The Clerk informed the Council that he had checked the supplemental petition I petition calling for an amendment of Ordinance No. 230 to close dance halls at 12 o'clock midnight and that the result of said checking was that the original petition together with the supplemental petition contained spore than 10% of the qualified electors of the City of Huntington Beach. Resolution The Clerk presented and read Resolution No. 898, a resolution of the #898 City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California, under proposition No. 6 reading as follows: 'Shall the Ordinance closing dance halls between j� midnight and 8:00 A.M. be adopted?" And, on motion by Talbert seconded by I I i Morehouse, Resolution No. 899 was passed and adopted by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen: Talbert Henrickson, Morehouse. NOES: Councilmen: None. ABSENT: Councilmen: McCallen, Grable. The City Council agreed to meet at 7:30 P.M. Monday,'March 23, 1942. On motion by Morehouse seconded by Talbert,_the Council adjourned I until 4:00 o'clock P.M.
