Pursuant to adjournment of 10:00 A. M. Wednesday, March 11, 1942, the
Council met at 4:00 o'clock P. M. Wednesday, March 11, 1942 and was called
to order by the City Clerk.
Councilmen present: Talbert, Henrickson, Morehouse.
Councilmen absent: McCallen, Grable.
Henrickson - On motion by Talbert seconded by Morehouse, Councilman Henrickson was
Mayor pro-t em
appointed chairman and mayor pro-tem.
Supplemental The Clerk informed the Council that he had checked the supplemental
petition
petition calling for an amendment of Ordinance No. 230 to close dance halls
at 12 o'clock midnight and that the result of said checking was that the
original petition together with the supplemental petition contained wore
than 10% of the qualified electors of the City of Huntington Beach.
Resolution The Clerk presented and read Resolution No. 898, a resolution of the

City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California, under proposition
7` No. 6 reading as follows: "Shall the Ordinance closing dance halls between
midnight and 8:00 A.M. be adopted?" And, on motion by Talbert seconded by
— Morehouse, Resolution No. 898 was passed and adopted by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen: Talbert Henrickson, Morehouse.
NOES:. Councilmen: None.
ABSENT: Councilmen: McCallen, Grable.
The City Council agreed to meet at 7:30 P.M. Monday, March 23, 1942.
On motion by Morehouse seconded by Talbert,.the Council adjourned
until 4:00 o'clock P.M. Thursday, March 12, 1942.

being no quorum present, the Clerk adjourned the meeting until 4:00 P. M.
