Council Chamber, City Hall,
Huntington Beach, California
3 P.M., Tuesday, June 30, 1942
Pursuant to adjournment of Monday, June 29th, the City Council met
and was called to order at 3:00 o'clock P.M. by the Clerk.
Councilmen present: Henrickson, Grable, Morehouse, Hawes.
Councilmen absent: Talbert.
On motion by Grable seconded by Morehouse, Councilman Henrickson
was appointed mayor pro-tem.
War Risk The Clerk presented to each of the City Councilmen a list of city

property proposed to be covered by war risk insurance and, on motion by
Grable seconded by Morehouse, the verbal contract was awarded to C. H.
King at a total premium cost of approximately $600.30.
City employ- Councilman Morehouse informed the City Council that some of the city

local merchants. The matter was referred back to Councilman Morehouse,
chairman of the Streets and Parks Committee, for further investigation
and recommendation.
Councilman Henrickson stated that a number of business houses in the
city were in the habit of allowing their license to become very much de-
linquent. He stated that the matter had been taken up with the city
attorney a number of times but that no definite action had been taken
to date and recommended that legal action be taken. No action was taken
by the City Council.
On motion by Hawes seconded by Morehouse, the application of Mrs. Vita
Azzara to operate popcorn and soft drink stand in front of 213 Main Street
was denied.
On motion by Morehouse seconded by Hawes, the application of Rom- C.Hill
to operate hotel at 3072 Main Street was approved.
