HomeMy WebLinkAbout1943-09-16"1 MINUTES Council Chamber; City Hall, Thursday; September 16, 193 Pursuant to adjournment of September lath, the City Council met and was called to order at 12:00 o'clock Noon, September 16th, 1943. Councilmen present: Henrickson,. Hawes, Morehouse, Talbert. Councilmen absent: arable. Boni 16595 The Clerk read a letter from the National Automobile Insurance Company cancelled - Ala, St, asking permission to cancel Bond No. 16595, Alabama Street' Oil Company, and -�. Oil Co. on motion by Henrickson seconded by Hawes, the bond was ordered cancelled. Bond On motion by Henrickson seconded by Hawes, the Huntington State Company was authorized to post a $5,000,00 surety bond as a blanket oilwell drilling bond. The $500.00 bond for one well was accepted. Orange Co.' A letter from the Orange County Water District was read. The letter re - Water Dist, quested that the City Council appoint a committee composed of one member of the �. City Council and two others from citizenry for the conservation of water. The matter was referred to the City Council for further information. Amend Ord, Attorney Overacker was authorized to prepare an amendment to the plumbing Y' and electric ordinances covering surety bonds. J.K.Sargent The Clerk read a letter from J. K. Sargent asking permission to be trans- ferred to the position of fire department engineer. Action was deferred by the Council. Mayor Talbert filed with the Clerk a copy of map of Rancho Los Bolsas. Chlorinator On motion by Councilman Henrickson, seconded by Councilman Hawes, the bid of Chemical Equipment Company of California to furnish the City with 1 Manual ' Control Solution Feed Visible Vacuum Type ghlorinatdr as called for in specifi- cations of the City Engineer for the sum of $1,300.00 plus sales tax, was ao- cepted and all other bids rejected. Motion put and carried unanimously. It is understood by the City Council that the bid item designated as C - $1,400.00 less $100.00 for the oity's used equipment is the bid accepted.
