TR. by Mayor Talbert. Councilmen present: Henrickson, Grable, Hawes, Talbert. Councilmen absent Morehouse. rabic Finance ommittee The Mayor appointed Councilman Grable on the Finance Committee in ee the absence of Councilman Morehouse. ontractm avmAmLon The Clerk presented and read contract with George Mitchell for . use of the Pav-a-Lon dance hall and, on motion by Henrickson seconded by Grable, the Mayor and Clerk were authorized to execute same as amended on behalf of the City. esolution #928- The Clerk read Resolution No. 928 authorizing the opening of a asoline acc 9 t. gasoline account with the Security -First National Bank and, on motion' by Henrickson seconded by Hawes, Resolution No. 929 was passed and adopted by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen: Henrickson, Grable, Hawes, Talbert. NOES: Councilmen: None. ABSENT: Councilmen: Morehouse. .B.Vol. Fire- Delbert Higgins, representing the H. B. Volunteer Fire Department en's dance ' av-A-Lori addressed the Council and asked that the Firemen be permitted to use the Pav-A-Lon for their Valentine dance on the evening of Saturday, February 12th, and that the $25.00 rental fee be waived. George Mitchell informed the Council that the arrangements will be agreeable with him and that it is understood net proceeds from the dance will be used for the benefit of the Volunteer Fire Department and that the firemen will use Mitchell's band and, on motion by Grable seconded by PPLICATIONS: Hawe.s, the request was granted. . Railroad between 21st and 22d Streets. This location being within 100 feet of a railroad track, the Mayor asked if anyone in the audience had any objections to the location; there was none. City Engineer Overmyer testified, ` under oath, that it was his opinion that no hazard would exist in allowing a derrick to be erected in this location and, on motion by Hawes seconded by Grable, the application was approved. = Ord. #478 ® #419 The Clerk gave Ordinance No. 479, amending Ordinance #418 concern® amending . ing permits for drilling oil wells, its first reading at'th is time. Master Maps m On motion by Hawes seconded by Henrickson, the Attorney was autho- oil well appli- cations sized to prepare and submit an amendment to the drilling ordinance providing for a master map to take the place of individual maps for oil well applications. , Demands On motion by Henrickson seconded.by Hawes, demands approved by the k Finance Committee were ordered paid. E, Vacation On motion by Henrickson seconded by Hawes, City Clerk C. R. Furr C.R.Furr was given permission to take his annual vacation for 1944, January 25th to February 8th. Wa r ar Post War Mayor Talbert informed the Council that M. G. Jones and Wm. H. meeting Gallienne were serving on the committee to furnish speakers on POST WAR PLANNING, that the first meeting will be held at 7:30 P.M. Jan - nary 19th in the Council Chamber and thereafter once each month until further notice. The Clerk was directed to notify members of the City Council and heads of the City Departments and request that they be present. On motion by Hawes seconded by Henrickson, the Clerk was directed to notify heads of departments of the.Post War Planning meeting and that the . Council Chamber is to be used for the meetings. Tree on Engineer Overmyer stated that he had inspected the tree on 15th Street 15th St. which the owner of the adjoining property had asked to be removed. Pqr. Overmyer stated that he did not recommend that the tree be removed. Pool Halls _ Councilman Hawes informed.the Council that action would probably be the taken by the Health Department to improve/condition of the pool halls.
