Pursuant to adjournment of May 1st, 1944, the City Clerk appeared at
the Council Chamber at 5:30 P.M.
adjourned the meeting.

The regular meeting of the City Council was called to order at 7:30
. P.M. by Mayor Talbert.
Councilmen present: Henrickson, Grable, Hawes, Bartlett,'Talbert.
Councilmen absent: None. -
Memorial Hall- The Clerk read a letter from Wilton Gale, Order of the De Molay,
Youth Coordi-
nator asking permission to rent the Memorial Hall indefinitely every Friday from.
8:00 P.M. to 12:00 P.M. o'clock for the purpose of holding young peoples
dances. The Mayor asked Dr. Strong, who is employed by the High School as
youth coordinator, to make some remarks relative to coordinating the various
groups. Dr. Strong stated that he would get in touch with the various groups
including the De Molays and the P.T.:A. relative to meeting nights so that there
01 would be no duplication.of work. Mrs. Ballough asked that the P.T.A. be given
the hall for Friday night May 26th, after which the P.T.A. would be glad to
join with the coordinator in arranging dates and, on motion by Hawes seconded
by Bartlett, the request for the hall on Friday nights by the youth coordinator
was granted subject to events of major importance.
Geo:M,.Mitchell- The Clerk read a letter from George M. Mitchell cancelling his request
Pav-A-Lon
dances for using the Pav-A-Lon for dances after 1:00 A.M.

bldg. The Clerk read an estimate from the city engineer relative to the repair
of the Chamber of Commerce office. Total amount of expenditure $115.00 plus
labor and, on motion by Hawes seconded by Henrickson, the engineer was authorized
to proceed-, with toe, work.
