HomeMy WebLinkAbout1944-11-10• MINUTES Special/Meeting held Friday Nov 10th,1944, 7:30 PM adjourned Pursuant to adjournment of Nov. 2nd, the members of the Huntington Beach Planning Commission met and was called to order at 7:30 PM by the Secretery pro-tem. Members Present: Langenbeck,Bristol,Budson, Culbertson,Elliott, Furr,Overacker,Overmyer Absent Shaw. Visitors present: Mayor T B Talbert. Langenbeck Vernon Langenbeck was nominated for chairman for the unexpired Chairman term en ding April 24th,1945. There being no further nominations, • on motion motion by Hudson seconded by Overacker, the secretary was directed to cast the unanimous ballot in favor cU Vernon Langenbeck to serve as chairman to April 24th,1945. Elliott C L Elliott was nominated for vice-chairman to serve until Vice- April 24th,1945. There being no further nominations, the secretary Chairmanwas directed to cast the unanimous ballot for E L Elliott. Furr C R Furr was nominated for Secretary to serve until April Secretar?4th,1945. There being no further nominations C R Furr was electe& secretery. I I Minutes The secretary read minutes for Nov 2nd. There being no • errors of corrections same were accepted and approved. Talbert Mayor Talbert thanked -the members of the Commission for their interest and offered to assist in all ways possible. G.M.Park On motion by Hudson, seconded by Culbertson, the secretery Was directed to respectfully request the City Council to employ a M Parks, planning engineer of Anahaim California, to meet with. the Planning Commission in an advisory capacity for an indefinite period, to be terminated at the will and pleasure of the Oity' Council, at a salary of apvrv%4ma y $50.00 per month. Amendment The following amendment to the by-laws was offered by Bristol: • to by-10that the regular meeting of the Huntington Beach Planning Commission be at 7:30 PM on the Second (2nd) Friday of each and every month;provided, that in the event such Friday falls on a holiday, the Commission will meet on the following Friday." Amendment to be voted upon at -the meeting of November 24th,1944. Mr. ElliottMr Elliott stated that he was anxious to see something constructive accomplished by the Commission and that he was willing to work to that end.
