Consulting Engineer Parks reviewed the work of the
Commission for the benefit of the newly installed member,
Robert L. Davis.
He suggested that the City Engineer prepare a highway
map of the territory surrounding the city and three miles
distance inland from the city limits. He stated that a map
showing proposed highways connecting with city streets would
be preferred. After some discussion, it was decided to con-
sult with the Huntington Beach Land Company and the Standard
Oil Company relative to an easterly -westerly highway in the
vicinity of Mansion Avenue.
On motion by Hudson seconded by Overacker, the matter of
proposed city highways connecting with County roads was re-
ferred to City Attorney Overacker to meet with the County
Planning Commission and assist in coordinating plans. Other
members of the Planning Commission were asked to join Attor-
ney Overacker at the meeting if possible.
On -motion by Overacker seconded by Hudson, the secretary
was directed to write the County Planning Commission and request
that they give 'the City of Huntington Beach notice of any and
all subdivisions applied for and to be located within three
miles of -the Huntington Beach city limits. Motion put and
carried unanimously.
Survey Engineer Parks explained how a survey of available resi-
dence sites in the City of Huntington Beach can be made by
eliminating undesirable or unavailable sections of the city.
• He recommended that members of the Commission make this a
special study and submit maps showing what they consider as
desirable residence sites.
Zoning Engineer Parks informed the Commission that he had visited
Huntington Beach since last meeting and looked over the city with
a view of proper zoning.
