Friday, May 11, 1945 The regular meeting of the Huntington Beach Planning Commission was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by President Langenbeck. Members present; Davis, Kaufman, Furr, Langenbeck, Bristol, Shaw, Hudson, Overmyer, Overackerand Consulting Engineer Parks. Minutes for the month of April were read and approved. On motion by Bristol seconded by Davis, the members of the Commission voted unanimously to start all meetings at 7:30 P.M. and close at 9*30 P.M. P.E.Ry.Co.- Ed Shaw informed the Commission that he had discussed Tracks with officials of the Pacific Electric Railway Company the question of possible removal of Pacific -Electric tracks along the ocean front or along the inland route. between the Holly Sugar Company plant and down town section and that it was his opinion that nothing would be done along this line in the immediate future. Highways - Over- Ray Overaeker reported on a meeting with Mr. Lawshe of the Mr. Huntington Beach Company and stated that the matter of truck acker highways was discussed but that no definite decision was reached. Also that he had met with the County Planning Com- mission and discussed the matter of a major highway through the Santa Ana Canyon, also highway leading out of Hunting- ton Beach to connect with the State system but that no decision was reached on this matter. That Cap Hillyard stated he was not ready to recommend the proposed Yorktown outlet and that the matter will be studied by the County Planning engineers and a report rendered later. Mr. Parks - Consulting Engineer Parks stated that he had suggested Highways the idea of the Mansion State highway plan and asked for further opinions especially from City Engineer Overmyer. Mr. Overmyer stated that he had approved the plans as suggested by Mr. Parks -as being the best plan available. That on account of having to work out the matter of highway planning, we will have to discuss the matter with the County Planning Commission before taking definite action. On motion by Hudson seconded by Bristol, the secretary was directed to invite Fred-W. Spencer, engineer of planning and developmeiAt,, Pacific Electric Railway Company, to meet iwith the"Commission at its next meeting. Engineer Parks reviewed the land use map with a view Zoning of action on special zoning as recommended by the Commission in -,io the near future and having in mind at all times the master plan. Mr. Parks volunteered to prepare a map of the area for zoning and submit to the Commission at its next meeting with a view in mind of unofficial hearing. 1 1 C • 11 • On motion by Bristol seconded by Davis, the Commission • adjourned.
