HomeMy WebLinkAbout1945-06-08r, L-A M I N U T E S Council Chamber, City Hall, Huntington Beach, California Friday, June 9, 1945 The regular meeting of the Huntington Beach Planning Commission was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by President Langenbeck. Members present: Langenbeck, Overacker, Overmyer, Shaw, Davis, Furr, Kaufman and Consulting Engineer Parks. Members absent: Bristol and Hudson. Visitors: F. W. Spencer, Engineer of Planning and Development, Pacific Electric Railway Company, Los Angeles. Minutes Minutes for the month of May were read and approved. President Langenbeck asked Mr. Spencer if he believed Mr. Spenceffhe Pacific Electric had in contemplation of making any P.E. changes in Pacific Electric lines running into Huntington Beach.. Mr. Spencer said that he did not know of any changes and believed that there would be none in the near future. Engineer Overmyer asked Mr. Spencer if there is any liklihood of abandoning the Ocean Avenue line and entering by 23rd Street and the Pacific Electric -Southern Pacific lines. Mr. Spencer said that owning to financing conditions such a plan is not possible though a similar arrangement had from time to time been discussed. Also the matter of cutting off at Seal Beach and coming over the Southern Pacific lines had been mentioned. Industrial Mr. Spencer asked that a copy of the proposed zoning zoning. map, especially the one having to do with industrial zoning, be sent him as soon as prepared. Discussion on the proposed area to be zoned in the Areas downtown district, including a portion of property on the to be east side, was had. The proposed business district was zoned increased somewhat, also a portion of -the single family district was changed to read two families. New map Engineer Parks stated that he would prepare a new map to be ready for next meeting of the Commission. Meeting adjourned at 9:40 P.M. C. R. Furr, Secretary
