The regular meeting of the City Council was called to order at
' 7:30 P.M. by Mayor Talbert.
Councilmen present: Henrickson, Grable, Hawes, Bartlett, Talbert.
Councilmen absent: None.
Mr. Hildebrand - R. F. Hildebrand of 302 Seventh Street addressed the Council
Retirement
R • Plan and stated that he believed that the City Council should call an
election of the voters to determine whether or not the city employees
be allowed to join the State Employees'° Retirement system. On being
.asked by the Mayor.if he represented anyone, Mr Hildebrand stated that
he did not and was only asking for his own personal information.
Mr. Whitfield John Whitfield addressed the Council and expressed the opinion
that the matter should be brought to a vote of the people and stated
that he had been asked by a number of citizens to appear before the

Council and submit- his and their desires.

& W. A. Greer and Chris-H. King expressed themselves in favor of
C. H. King

Petition
Mr. Hildebrand asked the Council if it would be permissible
to submit an informal petition requesting an election and he was told
by the Mayor that such action would be in order. No further action by,
the City Council.

The Clerk read a letter,from Chas. B. Tipton asking for lease

on his former spot on the municipal pier beginning January 1, 1946.
He enclosed check for $75.00 for the first quarter of the year rent
payment. The matter was referred to the Beach and Pier Committee for

their recommendation.
Orange Co.
League The Clerk read a letter from Attorney Overacker, secretary of
of Cities
the Orange County League of Cities,calling attention.to the annual
meeting with the State League staff to be held in Anaheim at the Elk's
Club building August 23, 1945, beginning at 10:00 A.M. and running
through to 6:00 P.M., also to the County League meeting starting at
6: 45j P.M. The `following stated that they will attend the meeting:
Grable, Barn ett, Talbert, Overmyer, Hawes, Furr, Patton, Overacker

The Clerk read Resolution No. 974, approving and adopting
Mutual Aid
Proposed Law Enforcement Mutual Aid Plan, and on motion by Henrickson
plan
seconded by Bartlett, Resolution No. 974 was passed and adopted by -the
following vote:

ABSENT: Councilmen: Hawes.
Dr. Hades returns 8:25 P.M. Dr. Hawes returned to the Council table.
Demands On motion by Grable seconded by Bartlett,. demands approved
by the Finance Committee were ordered paid.
Amendment to The Clerk presented copies of the proposed amendment to the
salary Ordinance salary ordinance to the Council for study and recommendation at next
meeting of the Council® v
On motion by Henrickson seconded by Bartlett, the Council
adjourned.
