November 8, 1945
Pursuant to adjournment of November 5th, the City Council met and
was called to order by Mayor Talbert at 12:00 o'clock.
Councilmen present: Henrickson, Hawes, Bartlett, Talbert.
Councilmen absent: Grable.
Mr. Parker addressed the Council and stated that he and his
associates had decided not to present a bid for a barge landing at the
municipal pier.
Mayor Talbert informed Mr. Patterson, applicant for a pier landing,
that `he woAiT, hate to submit his bid in writing on or before November 19,
1945.
On motion by Henrickson seconded by Hawes, demands approved by the
Finance Committee were ordered paid.
The Clerk informed the Council that he had received an application
from Reverend Goffar, telephone 514, Newport Beach, to use Memorial Hall
Saturday and Sunday evenings for a period of four months beginning Nov-
ember 24th. Services to start at 6:30.P.M. and close at 9:00 P.M; that
no admission will be charged but that.a cash offering will be taken, and
on motion by Hawes seconded by Bartlett, the request was granted.with the
provisions that the nightly rental be $25.00 and that the City reserve the
rights to cancel engagements on a ten day notice either by telephone or letter.
The Clerk presented and read a contract between the Huntington Beach
Company and the City of Huntington Beach leasing to the city for a period
of five years Block 1012, Wesley Park Tract, to be used as an archery range,
and on motion by Henrickson seconded by Bartlett, the Mayor and City Clerk
were authorized to execute same on behalf of the City. The City.Engineer
was authorized,to proceed to clean the premises in the proper manner.
Street light- On motion by Henrickson seconded by Hawes, the.engineer was autho-

rized to install a street light on Williams Street .;just off Florida Avenue,
Frankfort St.- On motion by Bartlett seconded by Halves, the engineer was authorized

to install an alley light in the rear of Victor Terry 's residence at 647
Frankfort Street.
On motion by Henrickson seconded by Hawes, t Council adjourned.
