Thursday, February 21, 1946
Pursuant to adjournment of February 8th, the Huntington Beach
Planning Commission met and was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by
Chairman Langenbeck.
Members present: Langenbeck, Furr, Overmyer, Hudson, Shag,
Kaufman, Bristol, Overacker, Davis and
-• consulting engineer Parks.

Minutes
On motion by Kaufman seconded by Bristol, minutes for the
month -of January were approved as read.
Land use OU-.X Engineer Overmyer called attention to the land use map
in,vicinand stated that James S. Lawshe, manager of the Huntington Beach
ity of Company had met with City Attorney Overacker, City Clerk Furr and
Hi ' City Engineer Overmyer during the afternoon of February 21srk for
Sh cool. the purpose of an informal discussion concerning land use in the
vicinity of the High School,
That Mr. Lawshe had suggested that the area bounded on the
Mr. Laws��rr�st by Lake Avenue and south by Tenth and Eleventh Streets, east
by Palm and Seventeenth street and along a line drawn westerly by
Main Street and on the north by Mansion Avenue be changed to,read
R-1 area. whereupon the following motion was made by Bristol
seconded by Davis: "That all lots fronting on the westerly side
of Lake Avenue from Thirteenth street to Utica Street and Lots 2, 3,
4 and 5, Block 1214, Tract 12, be changed from R-1 to R-2.
District Lots 22, and 24, Block 1903, Tract 12, Lot 35 in Block 1704,
changed. Tract 51, be changed from R-3 to R-1 district.
Lots 1 to 33 inclusive, odd numbered lots only,.in Block
1704, Tract 51, and Lots 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19 in •
Block 1015 Wesley Park Tract, be changed from R-2 to R-1 District.
All. lots fronting on the easterly side of Main Street from
the northerly line of Lot 20, Block 1803, Tract 12, south to the
southerly line of Lot 12, Block 911, Wesley Park tract and Lots
1 and 3, Block 1703, Tract 12; Lots 12, 131 14, 15 and 16, Block
1014, Tract 12, and lots 1 and 2. Block 1702, Tract 12, Lot 2,
Block 1701, Tract 12; Lots 6, 7, 9, 9 and 10, Block 1214, Wesley
Park Tract;;Lots 1 to 12 inclusive, Block �114, Wesley Park Tract,
Lots 1 to 15 inclusive, Block $13, Wesley Park Tract; Lots 1, 2,
3 and 4, Block 912, Wesley Park Tract, and the westerly 143 feet
of Lot "C", Tract 260, extending from Loma Avenue to a point 215
feet south of the southerly line of Loma Avenue be changed from
R-2 to R-1 District.
That all that portion of Lot "C", Tract 260, except that
portion thereof described as being in R-1 be changed from
M-2-0 to R-1-0 District.
That Lots 2, 4, 6, 9, 10, 12, 14, 16, 19, 20, 22, 24 and
26, Block 1015, Wesley Heights be changed from M-2-0 to R-1-0
district.
That even numbered Lots 2 to 26 inclusive, Block 1704 and
Lots 1, 2 3, 4, 6, 9 and 10, Block 1705, Tract 51, and all of
Block 1804, Tract 51, and all of Blocks 1901, 1902, 1903, 1904,
200k and 2002 be taken out of M-2-0 district and placed in the
R-1-0 district." Motion put and carried by the following vote:
AYES: Langenbeck, Furr, Overmyer, Hudson, Kaufman, Bristol,
Overacker, Davis.
NOES: Shaw.
ABSENT: None,

At this time, 9:70 P. M., the Chair declared a recess.
Meeting again called to order at 9:35 P.M. All members
present.
Work- Chairman Langenbeck addressed the audience and explained
accomp-1, the purpose of the Planning Commission and gave a brief report
lished of the work accomplished to this date.
Consulting Engineer Parks called attention to the colored
map on the wall and stated that the various land uses were
'designat'ed by color but that this map is not the official map
• Colored and that the official map is on file and spread on the table

open to public inspection both during the meeting of the
Commission and during all office hours in the offices iffil.the
city engineer and city clerk.
Changes Mr. Parks outlined the changes made by the Commission on

to examinetable and asked to examine the official map.

On motion by Kaufman seconded by Overmyer, a third
Public public hearing was ordered for 8:00 o'clock -P.M. March 9,
Hearing 1946, and the secretary directed to advertise same -in the
Huntington Beach News.
On motion by Kaufman seconded by Shaw, the Commission
• adjourned.
