Councilmen present; Langenbeck, Terry, Bartlett. Councilmen absent; Grable, Hawes. Informal The Clerk presented and read the following informal bids for. Bids for Fire Ins. furnishing fire insurance for the City of Huntington Beach for the period beginning August 1., 1946: Huston, Suter & Huston for the Hartford Fire Insurance Company, V 3 years, rate $1.01; 5 years, rate $1.616. Ila N. Dabney for the Travellers Fire Insurance Company, 3 years, `rate $1.01; 5 years, rate $1.61,6. C.H. KING, 3 years, rate $1.01; 5 years, rate $1.616. J.L. Main St. The Clerk read a letter from City Engineer Overmyer calling attention to attached memorandum of Agreement for the Expenditure of J cent Gas Tax Funds for streets of major importance in this city. The Clerk read Memorandum of Agreement between the City of P. -024 Page -�3, Minutes, July 22, 1946. In Huntington Beach and the Department of Public Works covering the appropriation of funds for the resurfacing of Main Street and con- struction of curbs and gutters on portion of Main Street between Ocean Avenue and Clay Street, ehowing a total of available funds Resod in the amount of $16,052.32. The Clerk read Resolution No. 1003 51003 approving Memorandum of Agreement for the expenditure of.J cent gasoline tax as provided for in the above mentioned agreement and authorized the Mayor and Clerk to execute same on behalf of the City and on motion by Langenbeck seconded by Terry, Resolution No. 1003 was passed and adopted by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen: Langenbeck, Terry', Bartlett, NOES: Councilmen: None. ' ABSENT: Councilmen: Grable, Hawes. Resod. The Clerk read Resolution No. 1004, establishing the general 01004 . prevailing rate of per diem wages for each craft or type of workman.. Page rato or mechanic needed in the re -surfacing and improvement of Main Street in the City of Huntington Beach. Engineer' Overmyer testified, under oath, that he had investigated the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in this locality for workmen needed in the re -surfacing and improvement of Main.Street and that to the•best of his knowledge and belief, rates set out in-Resolution'No. 1004 are correct. The Mayor asked if anyone in the audience wished to make a statement concerning the'general prevailing rate of wages for the above named project. There was no response, and on motion by Langenbeck seconded by Terry, Resolution No. 1004 was'passed and adopted by:the following vote: AYES: Councilmen: Langenbeck, Terry, Bartlett. NOES: Councilmen: None. ABSENT: Councilmen: Grable, Hawes. Adv. for On motion by Terry seconded by Langenbeck, the City Clerk was bids directed to advertise for bids for the resurfacing and improvement of Main Street, bids to be opened and examined by the City Council at its meeting of August 12, 1946, at the'hour of 7:30 P.M.
