Tuesday, January 21, 1947
The regular meeting of the H. B. Planning Commission
was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Chairman Hudson.

Members present: Overmyer, Kaufman, Davis, LeBard, Bristol,
Overacker, Furr, Hudson and Consulting
Engineer Parks.
Members absent: Shaw.
New Chairman Hudson introduced the new member of the
Member Planning Commission, Harry R. LeBard, 419 - 9th Street, who
had been appointed to fill the unexpired term of David K.
Jones, resigned. Term expires April 24, 1949-.
Committee On motion by Overacker seconded by Bristol, the
president was authorized to appoint a committee to go to
Long Beach and Belmont Shore and make a study of set -back
• lines and other matters,in connection with multiple and
business areas, after which they are to make a study of the
Huntington Beach area along Ocean Avenue and areas not al-
ready zoned for,residences up to and including 15th Street.
The-Chair'appointed Bristol, Hudson and Furr on the Committee
to make a study at 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 24th.
Fences A general discussion was had relative to the height
Hermann, of fences around back yards.
Fred C. The secretary presented and read petition of Fred C:
Hermann for variance on Lots 6 and B in Block 411% for the
• purpose of erecting building within three feet of property
line and within 18 inches of sidewalk, and on motion by
Overacker seconded by Bristol, hearing was set for Wednesday
February 5th, 7:30 P.M.

Tract 1223 The Clerk presented and read a letter from the
Orange County Planning Commission calling attention to
map of Tract 1223 which proposesto .revert to acreage,
part of Tract 550 within three miles of Huntington Beach,
and on motion by Overmyer seconded by Kaufman, the
H. B. Planning Commission approved the change.
Master Engineer Parks recommended the adoption of a mas-
Plan ter plan and read a suggested ordinance and program
plan for 1947. The plan carried suggestions for the
type of improvement that belongs in a given area.
Maps On motion by Bristol seconded by Davis, City
Engineer Overmyer was authorized to prepare maps one-
fourth size and order twelve of same for the Planning
Commission.-
R-1 zone Engineer Parks read a proposed ordinance to be
known as R-1 zone in the area northerly from Memphis
street to allow the pasturing of a limited number of
animals.r
All members of the Commission agreed that the
first work to be done now is the preparation of a master
plan to be followed by the adoption of. a highway plan,
and on motion by Overacker seconded by Overmyer,
Engineer Parks was authorized to prepare and present a
master plan at the next meeting of the Commission,
February l9th,
On motion by Kaufman seconded by Davis, the Commis-
sion adjourned until 7:30 P.M. Wednesday, February 5th,
it being understood that this meeting, amoung other
things, is f or.the purpose of hearing and passing on
petition for conditional exception by Fred C. Hermann.
