HomeMy WebLinkAbout1947-09-16Ll 1 • • 1 11 • 0 HUNTINGTON BEACH PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES Council Chamber, Huntington Beach, Tuesday, Sept.16, City Hall, California 1947 The regular meeting of the Huntington Beach Planning Commission was called to order at 9:00 P.M. by Chairman Bristol. Members present:' LeBard, Davis, Overmyer, Bristol, Henricksen and Consulting Engineer Parks. Members absent: Furr, Overacker, Kaufman, Tovatt. Lease of - The secretary'read copies of letters received from Mr. Mr-SP- Wm. Gallienne, secretary -manager of the Chamber of Commerce, aulding from the Pacific Electric Railway Company and the Division of Beaches and Parks, State of California. The contents of these letters were in reference to the -lease entered into between the Pacific Electric Railway Company and Mr. Spaulding for the property along Highway 101 from Huntington Beach to the Santa Ana river. Consulting Engineer Parks informed the Commission that the County Planning Commission is working on this problem. Mr. Wm. Gallienne appeared before the Commission and discussed the possible results of this lease and stated that the Chamber of Commerce or the directors had gone into it thoroughly at their meeting held Monday, September 15th and had personally contacted the members of the County Pllnning Commission. The Clerk read a petition received and signed by sixteen Petition residents and property owners in the City of Huntington Beach, regarding a change in the master zoning map, that property described as follows be changed from the R-2-0 zone to the R-2 zone. This area is bounded by Magnolia on the south side, Palm Avenue on the north side, the alley between 14th and 15th on the west side and the alley between loth and 9th Streets on the east side, also the 50 foot strip running from 14th to llth Street on the north side of Palm Avenue. The secretary was instructed to mark a map showing the location of each of the lots owned by the signers of the petition, and on motion by LeBard seconded by Davis, that the petition be taken under advisement, was approved. Meetings On motion by Overmyer seconded by Davis, that the by -monthly meetings of the City Planning Commission of the City of Huntington Beach be discontinued and meet once each month on the third Tuesday and the secretary was instructed to notify all members of the Commission that the next meeting will be held on October 21, 1947, was approved and adopted by the following roll call: AYES: LeBard, Davis, Overmyer, Bristol, Henricksen. NOES: None. ABSENT: Furr, Overacker, Kaufman, Tovatt. On motion by Davis seconded by Overmyer, the meeting adjourned. �- Secretary 0
