Councilmen present: Greer, Hawes, Langenbeck, Bartlett. Councilmen absent: Terry. Business I On motion by Langenbeck seconded by Greer, the following applications License 1 for business licenses were approved: Peggy Anderson, No. 30, Sea Breeze Trailer Park, Huntington Beach, to con- duct the business of peddling Watkin's Products. Celia W. Young, 629 Hartford St., Huntington Beach, to conduct the business of law practice. Lotta M. Houser, 916 Harding St., Long Beach 5, Calif., to conduct beauty Shop at 304 Walnut Avenue, Huntington Beach. Applications: On motion by Greer seconded by, Hawes, the application of Standard Lot 23, Blk 421 Oil Company of California, to drill new well on Lot 23, Block 421, 17th Street Section, was approved subject to filing a satisfactory clean-up bond. Councilman Langenbeck not voting. Lots JO& 12 On motion by Langenbeck seconded by Greer, the application of Blk. 321 _ Mouton & Kohlbush, 1241 E. Burnett Street, Long Beach, California, to drill new well on Lots 10 and 12 in Block 321,.17th Street Section, was approved, _ subject to filing a clean-up bond. On motion by Langenbeok seconded by Hawes, the City Clerk was in- structed to advise Huston, Suter & Huston, Inc., Huntington Beach, that the City Council is satisfied with the original insurable values of city property as reflected by schedule covered by the Hartford Fire Insurance Company, Policy #325455, dated the first day of September, 1946, and ex- piring the first day of September, 1949; was approved. Golf Course The Clerk read letter received from the Huntington Beach Company advising that an authorization has been received from officials of the Huntington Beach Company granting the request of the City for additional property to'enlarge the present golf course, and requested that a committee meet with the officials of the Huntington Beach Company to disauss the matter. Mayor Ted Bartlett referred the request to the Golf Committee. NOES: Councilmen: None. ABSENT: Councilmen: Terry. Ord. 525 The Clerk gave Ordinance No. 525, an ordinance of the City of lst reading Huntington Beach, California, amending Ordinance 424, entitled an ordinance fixing and regulating the compensation of city officers, deputies, assistants and employees of the City of Huntington Beach, as amended by adding a new Section thereto, its first reading. Mr. Dant On motion by Langenbeck seconded by ,Greer, that the City Attorney be instructed to draw up "Notice of Default on Lease' held by Orville W. Dant; and for the Chief of Police to serve said notice to Orville W. Dant. - Enforce Ord, On motion by Langenbeck seconded by Greer, that the Chief of N o . 19 and, Ord. No. 515 Police be instructed to enforce Ordinance No. 19 and Ordinance No. 515, regulating the use of streets and to use police power to.enforee violations of use of streets between 14th and 15th Streets on Acacia was approved. Floor furnace On motion by Langenbeck seconded by Greer, that the City Clerk for trailer park, care- be instructed to purchase floor furnace recommended by the City taker's . cottage. Engineer and for the City Engineer to have it installed in the care- takers cottage located in the municipal trailer park, was approved.
