PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES Council Chamber, City Hall Huntington Beach, California Tuesday, June S, 1948 The regular adjourned meeting of the Huntington Beach Planning Commission was called to order by Chairman Warren Bristol at 7:30 P.M. Members present: Bristol, Hamann, Kaufman, Overacker, Henricksen, and Consulting Engineer Parks. -,- [embers absent: Bannister, McNeil, Tovatt, Overmyer. 4Aristol & The secretary repoeted to the Planning Commission Kaufman re- that Mayor Greer recommended to the City -Council that Warren appointed Bristol and Dr. Kaufman be re -appointed to serve on the Planning Commission for another term of four years. The Mayor's recommendations were unanimously approved by members of the City Council at the regular meeting of the City -- Council held on June 7, 1948. Hearings At this time Chairman Bristol announced that this was the time set for the first of two public hearings, as published in the Huntington Beach News on May 27, 194S`, relative to -proposed changes of use district boundaries and • requested Consulting Engineer Parks to read the proposed use district boundaries changes and to explain and to point out on the map. Parks Consulting Engineer Parks outlined and described by use of the map hanging"on the wall in the -Council Chambers the district boundaries in the present M-2-0 and one small section of R-2-0 district that this hearing is covering. At the close of Mr. Parks's description and explanation of reasons of the proposed district boundary changes, Chairman Bristol asked if there was anyone in the audience that ob- jected to the proposed changes and asked them to voice their opinion now. There being no response from the audience and • no written or verbal protest received Chairman Bristol de- clared first public hearing on this proposed district boundary changed closed, and that the next hearing as published in the Huntington Beach News of May 27, 1948, will be held Tuesday, June 22, 1949 at the hour of 7:30 P.M. in the City Council Chambers in the City Hall of the City of Huntington Beach, California. A short recess was declared by Chairman Warren Bristol to permit Consulting Engineer Parks to discuss with City Attorney Ray Overacker changes in the Planning Commission Ordinance No. 495- Hearing At 9:00 P.M. Chairman Bristol again called the • meeting to order and announced that this was the time set for the public hearing relative to proposed amendments to Ordinance #495, the districting ordinance of the City of Huntington Beach as published in the Huntington Beach News as of May 27, 1949- Section Chairman Bristol again requested the Secretary 18- 5 to read the proposed changes to be known as Section 18-5, R-5-0 R-5-0 District, covering multiple family andhotel district combined with oil production. ,Jngr. Parks Chairman Bristol requested Consulting Engineer Parks to explain the proposed new section to be added and Consulting Engineer Parks again outlined in detail by use of the wall map and explained the uses that were proposed in the new R-5-0 District. • HUNTINGTON BEACH PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES continued Council Chamber, City Hall Huntington Beach, California Tuesday, June 9, 1949 Hearing Chairman Bristol asked.if there was anyone that had objections relative to the proposed amendment to the districting ordinance as explained by Consulting Engineer Parks. There being no protests Chairman Bristol declared that the hearing was.closed, and that the second hearing on:this proposed amend- ment would be held in the Council Chamber in the City Hall of the City of Huntington Beach on Tuesday, June 22, 1948 at the hour of 9:00 P.M. as published in the Huntington Beach News, May 27, 1949. Map The map showing the area of the proposed district boundary changes, and is a part of the proposed ordinance, was presented. Engineer Parks called to the.attention of the Commission that the provision permitting the uses in the new proposed district should have noted that oil production is allowed and if it was' - left out it was merely a typOgraphical error. Oil field . On motion by Overacker seconded by Dr. Kaufman that Consulting Engineer Parks be authorized to make a study of proposed regulations with reference to district limitations of oil tanks and oil heaters and permit installationas as necessary by oil production in the oil field which come within residential districts R-1-0, R-2-0, R-3--0, R-4-0, and R-5-0, was approved. Consolidate . On motion by Henricksen seconded by Kaufman that Consulting Map Engineer Parks be instructed to make the necessary arrangements to employ the services of a competent party to consolidate the map for the proposed annexation as outlined by the Planning Commission members, was approved.
