HomeMy WebLinkAbout1948-07-15MINUTES HUNTINGTON BEACH PLANNING COMMISSION Council Chamber, City Hall Huntington Beach, California Thursday, July 15, i948 The regular meeting of the Huntington Beach Planning Commission was called to order by Chairman Warren Bristol at '7:30 P.M. Members present: Bristol, Overmyer, Kaufman, Bannister, Overacker, Henricksen, and Consulting Engineer Parks. Members absent: McNeil, Hamann, Tovatt. Minutes On motion by Bannister seconded by Kaufman the minutes Mav for the month of May, 1948 were approved as read. The secretary read use application No. 1679, received from the Orange County Planning Commission, said application to cover a proposed building to be erected at the south aide of Wintersburg Avenue about 150 feet east of the Appl.#1679 Southern Pacific Railroad and 400 feet met of Nichols Street in the west Wintersburg area, building to be used for a grocery and feed store. On motion by Kaufman seconded by Bannister that the Planning Commission of the City of Huntington Beach had no objection tot ­the use as set forth in the application, was approved. The secretary read use application #1688 received from the Orange County Planning Commission, said application requesting a proposed edition to existing residence to be Appl.#1688 40 feet by 33 feet and will set -back 29 feet from property line, said residence located on the south side of Garfield Avenue about 315 feet east of Huntington Beach Blvd. northeast Huntington Beach area and said use to be for a rest home. On motion by Overacker seconded by Kaufman that the Planning Commission of the City of Huntington Beach had no objections for the purpose of the application, was approved. On motion by Overacker seconded by Kaufman that the Hearing secretary be instructed to publish for a hearing on August 5th, 19at 7:30 P.M., the notice for petition for conditional exception filed by Vincent H. Saunders for the expressed purpose of construction of two two -bedroom houses facing Crest Avenue, said houses to be located on Lots 39, 40 & 42, Block 713, W.P. tract was approved. -On motion by Kaufman seconded by Bannister that the secretary be authorized to publish for a public hearing the application for petition for conditional exception of Howard Hearing F. O'Brien for the expressed purpose to re -open, produce and operate an existing oil well located on Lot 13, Block 1704, Tract 51, and said hearing to be held on August 5, 1948, was approved. On motion by Overacker seconded by Kaufman that bills Bills to presented by Consultant Engineer Parks in the amount of be paid. $27.61 be presented to the City Council for payment, was approved. Commission to recommend to the City Council that the compensation of Consultant Engineer Parks be raised from $75.00 to $100.00 per month, was approved. Duncan McNeil Chairman Bristol requested the secretary to address a communication to Duncan McNeil asking whether he desires to serve on the Huntington Beach Planning Commission as he had been absent since the first meeting he:=attended after appointment by the City Council. • On motion by Overacker seconded by Bannister the meeting adjourned until 7:30 P.M.
