Thursday, March 17, 1949
The regular meeting of the Huntington Beach
Planning Commission was called to order by Chairman Bristol
at 7:30 P.M. o'clock.
Members present: Bannister,Overmyer,Hinshaw,Henricksen,
Bristol,Overacker,Kaufman,Tovatt, and
Consultant Parks.
Members absent: Hamann.
?Minutes On motion by Bannister seconded by Hinshaw the
minutes for the month of February, 1949 wEre approved
as read.
Orange County Mr. Sturgeon of the Orange County Ceramic Tile Man -
Ceramic Tile ufacturing Company of Huntington Beach appeared before
f"fg. Go. the Commission and requested that he be permitted to con-
struct the building covering the new plans filed with the
building department of the City of Huntington Beach, in
accordance with the provisions provided in the
variance taken out by Mr. Guppy, the previous owner as
the conditions of said variance were passed on to the
heirs or assignees.

On motion by Overacker seconded by Tovatt that the i;
plans for the Huntington Beach Orange County Ceramic Tile
Manufacturing Company drawn by R. L. Olson, of Huntington
Beach under date of march 7, 1949 and being in compliance
with the requirements of the building code and that it is
the interpretation of the Commission that the building will
be constructed in accordance with plans heretofore mentioned
and conforms with the conditional exception granted by the
City Council under date of September 15, 1947, Resolution
No. 1022, was approved.

to use the present building located on Lots 4 & 6, Block
1902, Tract No. 12, present zoning R-1-0, for the purpose
of installing a machine shop, and with permission to en-

On motion by Kaufman seconded by Bannister that the

to provide for a new district to be known as R-5-0 District,
Multiple Family and Hotel District Combined with Oil Pro-
duction as published in the Huntington Beach News on Feb-
ruary 24th and March 3rd, 1949-
No protests The Secretary reported that there had been no verbal
or written protests filed on said hearing as published in
the Huntington Beach News. The Chairman asked if there
was anyone in the audience who wished to protest the said
amendment to the districting ordinance. there were no
protests from the audience.

in the Huntington Beach News, February 24th, and March 3rd,
1949, and incorporated in the City of Huntington Beach Planning
Commission Resolution No. 12.

Parks- Consultant Parks presented preliminary and proposed plan:
Preliminary lay -Out of that area proposed for the new amendment and the
plan lay-outR-5-0 bistrict of the Districting ordinance and reviewed the
general lay -out that he presented to the Commission.
On motion by Overmyer seconded by Kaufman the meeting
adjourned until 7:30 P.M., March 31st, 1949.
