Thornton MINUTES Council Chamber, City Hall Huntington Beach, California Monday, April 25, 1949 Pursuant to adjournment of April 18, 1949 Mayor Greer called the Council to order at 6:00 o'clock P.M. Councilmen present: LeBard, Seabridge, Langenbeck, Greer. Councilmen absent: Terry. 4 The Clerk read an agreement between the cities of Huntington Beach, Lahabra, Orange, Placentia and Seal Beach whereby the parties agree to jointly conduct a survey for the purpose of developing and forming a Municipal.Water.District in North OrangeCounty. On motion by Langenbeck seconded by LeBard that the Mayor and the City Clerk be authorized to execute the'agreement be- tween the cities of Huntington Beach, LaHabra, Orange, Placentia and Seal Beach for the purpose of conducting a survey for the developing and forming a Municipal Water District in North Orange County and that the sums set out opposite the names of each party shall be paid to the City of Huntington Beach on or before the first day of July, 1949, was approved. The Clerk reported that the Planning Commission of the City of Huntington Beach held a hearing on the petition for conditional exception of V. L. Thornton, 743 Main•Street, Huntington Beach for the purpose of using a building that is - vacant at present in the R-1-0 zone located on Lots 4 & 6, Block. 1902,Tract No. 12 in'the City of Huntington Beach and that said hearing was held on April 21, 1949 in accordance with. regulation of the Districting Ordinance No. 495• The pre- sent building will be used as a garage and a welding shop and the applicant has agreed to confine all his operations inside of the building or inside of the fence and the fence is not'to be in excess of 2500 square feet in area nor over six (6) feet in height and material stored within the fence area would:noto6xtend above the top of the fence. No stamping equipment or expansion of building permitted without con- ditional exception being applied for. It is the recommendations of the Planning Commission to the City Council that the request of the applicant with restrictions enumerated be allowed. On motion by LeBard seconded by Seabridge the City A" Council granted the petition for conditional exception to V. L. On motion by Langenbeck seconded by Seabridge Ordinance No- 542 was passed and adopted -by the following roll call: AYES: LeBard, Seabridge, Langenbeck, Greer. NOES:, None, 1 ABSENT: Terry. Reso.No. 1077 The City Clerk read Resolution No. 1077,'a resolution of the City Setting salary of L.H.Berry.• Council of the'City of Huntington Beach, California, setting rate for City.Employee in excess of the minimum. On motion by Seabridge seconded by LeBard Resolution No..10?7 was passed and adopted by the follow1fig roll call: AYES: LeBard,.Seabridge, Langenbeck, Greer. NOES: None. 'ABSENT: Terry. Ord. No. 543 The City Clerk gave Ordinance No. 543, an ordinance of the City Beach & Pier Dept. Council.of the City of Huntington Beach establishing a Beach and Pier Department, its first reading. New rates at On motion by Langenbeck seconded by Seabridge that the City Attorney Mun.Tr. Park of the City of Huntington Beach be authorized -to proceed with the application for establishment of new rates at the Municipal Trailer Park, was appr oved.
