HomeMy WebLinkAbout1949-10-02J MINUTES HUNTINGTON BEACH PLANNING COMMISSION Council Chamber, City Hall Huntington Beach, California Friday, December 2, 1949 The Secretary called the meeting to order at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Members present: Kaufman, Overacker, Hinshaw, OverrVer, Henricksen, Consultant Parks. Members absent: Tovatt, Hamann, Bannister. On motion by Hinshaw seconded by Overacker that Kaufman be appointed Chairman pro-tem was approved. The minutes for the months of August, September, October and November were approved. On motion by Hinshaw seconded by Overacker that the report of the Commission to the City Council as read by Consultant Parks covering the elimination of the street on the map entitled "Portion of Master Plan of Streets and Highways" between Ocean Avenue acid Atlanta Avenue and extending westerly from the Southerly prolongation of Huntington Avenue to a connection with Mnut Street, be accepted and that the Chairman pro-tem and the Secretary be authorized to execute the report was approved. On motion by Overmyer seconded by Hinshaw Resolution No. 17, a resolution of the City Planning Commission recommending certain amend- ments to the Districting Ordinance was passed and adopted by the following roll call: AYES: Overmyer, Overacker, Hinshaw, Kaufman, Henricksen. NOES: None. ABSENT: Tovatt. Hamann, Bannister, The Chairman read the letter received from John R. Peterson, District Superintendent of the Huntington Beach Elementary School District requesting the approval of the Huntington Beach Planning Commission to require four and one-half acres adjacent to the present school campus. On motion by Overacker seconded by Hinshaw that the request of John R. Peterson for the purchase of additional land for building pur- poses was approved and that the Secretary be instructed to forward a letter to John R. Peterson informing him of the Commissions action and to include a certified excerpt of the motion.
