Pursuant to adjournment on January 3, 1950, Mayor Greer
called the meeting of the City Council to order at 7:30 o'clock
P.M.
Councilmen present: LeBard, wood, Seabridge, Langenbeck, Greer
Councilmen absent: None
E.B.Stevens The City Clerk read a request from E. B. Stevens, 509
request trees
removed 8th Street, requesting the City remove three Eucalyptus trees
located in the parkway on Lake Avenue abutting the property on
Lot 51 and 52, Block 910, Wesley Park Tract. Mayor Greer referred
the request of E. B. Stevens to the Streets and Parks Committee.
W.Mellott of The City Clerk read a request from Walter Mellott of 230
H.M.S.Inc.,
to build 23 Thirtieth Street, Newport Beach, California, advising the City
new homes.
Council that H. M. S., Inc., are going to build 23 homes for
veterans in the Wesley Park tract in the City of Huntington Beach
and request that the City of Huntington Beach install curbs and
gutters to provide drainage for the tract covering the property
legally described as follows:- Lots 12 to 17 inclusive and Lots
21 and 22, Block 1013, Lots 1 to 11 inclusive, Block 1113, Lots
1 to 6 inclusive, Block 1114, Lots 19 to 24 inclusive, Block
1114, and Lots 1 to 16 inclusive, Block 1214, all in the Wesley
Park Tract, and'that curbs and gutters will therefore be needed '
as follows:- both sides of Pine Street between 13th Street and
Quincy Avenue, North side of 13th Street and the South side of
Quincy Avenue. Mayor Greer referred the request of Walter
Mellott of the H.M.S., Inc., to the Streets and Parks Committee.
$50.00 paid to On.motion by LeBard seconded by Langenbeck that the City
Schwab - Atty. Beach
for Mrs.Speik of Huntington/pay Fifty Dollars 350.00) to Paul E. Schwab,
Attorney for Mrs. Speik as a consideration for disclaimer and
quiet title proceedings in connection with the action re: City
of Huntington Beach vs Farbstein No. 53261-2, was approved.
Revised pro- City Attorney Ray H. Overacker read the revised pro-
posed agreement
with Cord Oil posed oil and gas lease agreement between the City of Huntington
Co.
Beach and the Cord Oil Company. Edward Neuhoff, representative
of the Cord Oil Company and George Busch, Attorney, appeared
before the City Council and answered questions asked by the City
Council regarding the proposed Cord Oil Company oil and gas
lease. The discussions were recorded on Soundscriber records
#107, 107A, 108, and 108A.

On motion by Langenbeck seconded by Wood that annexa-
tion Resolution No. 1099 be read was approved. Attorney Ray
Overacker read Resolution No. 1099, a resolution of the City
Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California, propos-
ing to annex certain uninhabited and contiguous territory to
said City, declaring that said proceedings have been initi-
ated of its own motion; giving reasons therefore; giving
notice of hearing of said proposed annexation, and on motion
by Seabridge seconded by LeBard Resolution No. 1099 was passed
and adopted by the following roll call:
AYES: Councilmen: LeBard, Wood, Seabridge, Langenbeck,
Greer
DOES: Councilmen: None
ABSENT: Councilmen: None
On motion by Wood seconded by Langenbeck that the
regularly adjourned meeting of the City Council adjourn
until January 9, 1950, 9:00 o'clock P.M., was approved.
