HomeMy WebLinkAbout1950-02-16• �1 1 HUNTINGTON BEACH PLANNING COMMISSION Council Chamber, City Hall Huntington Beach, California Thursday, February 16, 1950 Chairman Kaufman called the meeting of the Planning Commission of the City of Huntington Beach to order at 7:45 P.M. • Members present: Kaufman, Pyle, Hinshaw, Kettler, Tovatt, Overmyer and Consultant Parks. Members absent: Henricksen, Overacker, Hamann. Corrections The minutes for the meeting of January 19, 1950 approved with the in Minutes. following corrections: The word published to be changed to read advertised and was to replace were in the paragraph covering the public hearing of - Master Plan of Streets and Highways. Delete in paragraph five of page two the words "general plan of land use" and insert "statement of population Aensity."' Hearing - The Chairman stated that this was the hour and date set for the Gen.Plan of Public Hearing relative to "A General Plan of Population Density and Population Estimated Future Population.Growth in the City of Huntington Beach." Density. • The Secretary pro-tem stated that no verbal or written opinions were received either for or against the Plan. The Chairman asked if there was anyone in the audience that wished to speak for or against the Plan. The Chairman received no response. There being no verbal or written expressions made the Chairman declared the hearing on the General Plan of Population Density and Estimated Future Population Growth closed. Reso. #22 The Secretary pro-tem read Resolution No. 22 - A Resolution of the Planning Commission of the City of Huntington Beach, California, adopting a Population Density Plan with Estimate of Future Population Growth. On motion by Tovatt seconded by Hinshaw Resolution No. 22 was passed and adopted by the following roll call: • AYES: Tovatt, Hinshaw, Kettler, Pyle, Overmyer, Kaufman. NOES: None. ABSENT: Henricksen, Hamann, Overacker. Church - Lowell B. Davis appeared before the Commission and made inquiry!.xe- 14th St. garding possibility of constructing a church at a location on 14th Street between Crest Avenue and Main Street. The -requirement of zoning ordinance was explained to Mr. Davis by Consultant Parks. • Variance - The Secretary pro -tea read the Petition for Conditional Exception A. Watkins. filed by Albert Watkins. After some discussion a motion was made by Hinshaw seconded by Pyle that the petition be returned to Watkins for further information. A general discussion was held by the members of probable areas to be Blighted designated as ttBlighted Areas". Consultant Parks explained points of the areas. redevelopment Act. 0 v Page ##2 - Minutes - February 16, 1950. • On motion by Tovatt seconded by Kettler that the City Attorney be requested to provide an outline of procedure other than contained in the Redevelppment Act to permit cleanup of blighted areas.
