HUNTINGTON BEACH PLANNING COIUISSION

Thursday, May 18, 1950
Chairman Kaufman called the Planning Commission of the City
of Huntington Beach to order at 7:30 o'clock P.M.
Commissioners present: Kaufman, Hinshaw, Kettler, Overmyer,
• Henricksen, and Consultant Parks.
Commissioners absent: Bauer, Hamann, Tovatt, Pyles.
Minutes The minutes far the month of April, 1950 as transcribed and
mailed to the members of the Planning Commission were approved.
Hearing- The Chairman announced that this was the date and hour set
B.R.Beard.- for the public hearing on the petition for conditional exception
filed by Basil R. Beard of 221 Main Street, as published in the
Huntington Beach News, May 4. 1950. The Secretary reported that
he had received no verbal or written statements for or against the
• petition for conditional exception as advertised. The Chairman
declared the hearing closed as no statements had been filed and
no one present in the audience to speak for or against the petition
for conditional exception filed by Basil R. Beard.
On motion by Hinshaw secrn ded by Kettler that the petition
for conditional exception filed by Basil R. Beard be tabled in order
that the Commissioners may have time t�igQ consider the possibility of
rezoning the area adjacent to Block 6-n, Vista Dal Mar Tract, instead
of taking action to either approve or reject the application for
variance of Basil R. Beard, -was approved.
Commissioner Kettler was excused from the meeting at 8:15 P.M.
• After. Commissioner Kettler was excused there was no quorum
present and further -business could not be carried on.
Commissioner Pyles arrived at 8:45 P.M. and thereby creating
a quorum and business could be continued.
,Set back lines, Consultant Parks read a proposed resolution relative to
#101 & #39. establishing set back lines at Coast Highway (#101) and Hampshire
Avenue Highway (#39)• Action on the resolution was postponed until
a map can be prepared to show the details of the set backs indicated
in the resolution.
Commissioner Tovatt arrived at 9:20 P.M.
• Cond.Rxcept. The Secretary reported that the City Council of the City of
Al. Watkins. Huntington Beach bad taken action on the petition for conditional
exception filed by Albert Watkins covering property in Block 702, and
by councilmanic action the Council requested the Planning Commission
of the City of Huntington Beach to make a study of the building
restrictions in Block 702 and its immediate vicinity and recommended
that the areg be rezoned from R-2 District to the R-3 District.
The recommendation of the City Council for rezoning of Block 702 and
its immediate vicinity was tabled to allow the Commissioners to make
a further study of the area.
• On motion by Overmyer seconded by Pyles the meeting of the
Planning Commission of the City of Huntington Beach adjourned.
