HomeMy WebLinkAbout1950-06-1966 • } MINUTES Council Chamber, City Hall Huntington Beach, California Monday, June 19, 1950 The City Clerk called the regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach to order at 7:30 o'clock P.M. and stated that a motion was in order to appoint a Mayor pro-tem. On motion by LeBard seconded by Talbert Councilman Seabridge be appointed Mayor pro-tem in the absence of Mayor Langenbeck, was approved. Councilmen present: Talbert, LeBard, Seabridge Councilmen absent: Greer, Langenbeck Ingersoll & On motion by LeBard seconded by Talbert that the Mayor Wallace to take over Walker's and the City Clerk be authorized to execute the consent of the bait stand on pier. City of Huntington Beach to the assignment to E. Ingersoll and G. Wallace of the permit granted to Maude R. walker to use a portion of the building on the outer end of the Huntington Beach Municipal Pier to conduct a business of selling live bait and salt fish for bait, was approved. Carlton Beal The City.Clerk read a request from Carlton Beal, lessee asks reduction in royalty requesting that a temporary reduction in royalty on oil, gas and gasoline proceeds from production on City'well #1, situated on Lots 21 and 23, Block 616, 17th Street Section, and that the royalty be reduced.from the'present royalty 1/6th to a temporary royalty of 1/8th until'such time as price of crude oil reaches a value of $1.50 per barrel, or more, and in consideration of the request -being granted is willing to negotiate a supplementary agreement with--..the- City in.the event the well produces less than 5 barrels a day in any one month, and will agree within"a<six month period to.recon- dition the well. and" failure to. do. so agrees- to abandon the well., quit claim the property, and clean it up. Mayor pro-tem Seabridge referred the request of J. J. Johnson.in behalf of the Huntington Beach Garden Club to the Streets and Parks Committee for study and report Fire rings - J. Sherman Denny, Manager of the Huntington Beach Company, 8th Street.. & ext. of --beach reported to the City Council that the Huntington Beach Company had road verbally authorized the City':s request to place fire rings on the beach in the -vicinity of 8th Street and also verbally approved the extension of the beach road westerly of the- pier and that the agree- ment between the Huntington Beach Company and the City of Huntington Beach for these improvements are in progress. J. Colvin - City Attorney Bauer reported to the. City Council on the sub -lease airport request of Jack Colvin requesting a sub -lease on the property under lease to Georgianna Garrish, and stated that the.City cannot give a sub -lease to Jack Colvin as the property was under lease to Georgianna Garrish and it would be necessary for Georgianna Garrisl to sub -lease to Ja4ck Colvin and said sub -lease subject to the approval of the'City'Council.
