Members present: Wood, Hinshaw, Kaufman, Kettler, Schryer • P,Rembers absent: Pyles, Tunis Others present: Consultant Parks, City Attorney C. A. Bauer, City Engineer H. A. Overmyer On motion by Kaufman seconded by Hinshaw the minutes of the November 16, 1950 meeting as transcribed and mailed to the members, were approved. Industrial The following members of the Industrial Com- Committee mittee of the Chamber of Commerce were present:- Bryant, Bray, Myhre, Kenney. • Chairman Wood announced that the Industrial Committee had been invited to attend this meeting and informed their Chairman that the meeting was open for any discussion related to Industrial ,Development. Roy Bryant informed the Planning Commission that one Indus- trialist had been contacted and a meeting has been arranged vd- th his firm and the Industrial Committee of the Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, January 24, 1951. _ - . •_. Gallienne, Secretary of the Chamber of Com- Variance meree, addressed the Commissioners and requested that serious consideration be given to permit a blanket • variance during this emergency to allow immediate ac- cess in non -conforming areas for defense housing and plants. Members of the Industrial Committee discussed the possibility of emergency defense locatiops_and asked what procedure is necessary for permission to operate in facilities that are now available but in a non -conforming zone. By -Laws On motion by Hinshaw seconded by Kettler that the By -Laws of the City Planning Commission as pro- posed be adopted, was approved. Committees Chairman Wood appointed members of the City Planning Commission to the following committees: • STREETS AND HIGHWAYS, STREET NAMING, SUBDIVISIONS CHAIRMAN: Pyles COMMISSIONERS: Kaufman, Wood ZONING. VARIANCES. AMENDMENTS CHAIRMAN: Schryer COMMISSIONERS: Pyles, Tunis TRAFFIC, TRANSPORTATION, OFF-STREET PARKING, LOADING ZONES, BUS STOPS • CHAIRMAN: Kaufman COMMISSIONERS: Kettler, 'good PUBLIC BUILDINGS RECREATION PARKS STREET TREES ND BEAUTIFICATION CHAIRMAN: Tunis COMMISSIONERS: Kettler, Hinshaw 0 Page 2. Minutes - City Planning Commission January 16, 1951 rI PUBLIC WORKSt WATER SUPPLY, SMVERAGE, DRAINAGE, STREET LIGHTING CHAIRMAN: Hinshaw COMMISSIONERS,: Schryer, Wood Map Service On motion by Kaufman seconded by Hinshaw that the City Planning Commission recommend to the City Coun- cil that the Sanborn Map Service be purchased, was ap- proved. Setback Consultant Parks discussed the advantages of Lines, providing setback lines on property located in the Hiway #39 Southerly area of the City adjacent to Highways #39 • and #101 and read a proposed Resolution that outlined the requirements. Consultant Parks read a proposed model Ordinance that would provide for the setback lines as covered by the proposed resolution read. On motion by Kaufman seconded by Hinshaw the meeting of the City Planning Commission adjourned at 10:50 P.M. Secretary Chairman
