Commissioners Present: Wood, Schryer, Tunis, Kaufman, • Kettler, Hinshaw Commissioners Absent: Pyles Others Present: Parks, Bauer, Overmyer Minut es On motion by Kaufman seconded by Hinshaw the min- utes for the meeting of May 15, 1951, as mailed by the Secretary were approved. Expert for A general discussion was held on recommending that Master Plan an expert be hired to work out a Master Plan for the Beach. Budget On motion by Kaufman seconded by Hinshaw that the • Planning Commission request a budget for the year 1951-52 in the amount of $2,600.00, distributed as follows, was approved: Planning Consultant $1,500.00 Architecture and Landscape Planning 500.00 Printing, Maps, etc. 200.00 Conference and Conventions 400.00 Prince applica- The Secretary was asked to read the application for conditional exception filed by E. M. Prince. ti on The Commissioners asked Prince questions about • the variance he has requested. The Chairman reported that a notice for Public Hearing on the Prince application would be heard on June 26, 1951, at 7:45 P.M. Abandonment The Secretary read a communication from the City portion in which the matter of the abandonment of a portion of Quincy St. Quincy Street was referred to the Planning Commission. The Secretary was requested to check the minutes of the Planning Commission and the City Council to ascer- tain if a Master Plan of Streets in the City was adopted. The study for the abandonment of a portion of Quincy Street was tabled until more information is available. • Improv. Wm. Gallienne appeared before the commissioners Beach and requested the Commission to consider in their budget funds for architectural and planning studies for the im- provement of .the beach. It was suggested that before any changes are made on the beach, such plans be submitted to the Commission since they are working on a Master Beach Plan.
