HomeMy WebLinkAbout1952-01-15MINUTES Council Chamber, City Hall Huntington Beach, California Tuesday, January 15, 1952 Chairman Wood called the regular meeting of the Planning Commission of the City of Huntington Beach to order at 7:40 o'clock P.M. Commissioners present: Tunis, Kettler, Kaufman, Schryer, Wood Commissioners absent: Hinshaw, Pyles Others present: Consultant Parks, Henricksen Minutes On motion by Kaufman seconded by Tunis that the minutes of the Planning Commission of the City of Hunt- ington Beach for the months of October, November, and December, 1951, be accepted and approved as mailed by the Secretary, was approved. D.& W.Auto Chairman Wood presented to the Commissioners an Salvage- application for a use variance permit of the Orange County Use Var. Planning Commission relative to application No. UV 461, Permit- covering a request of the D. & W. Auto Salvage for per- Applic. mission to establish an automobile wrecking yard in the - County M-1 Industrial District, location being on the east side of Gothard Street about 675 feet North of Talbert Street in the north Huntington Beach area. On motion by Kaufman seconded by Kettler that the Secretary be instructed to notify the Orange County Planning Commission that this Commission has no comment on the use variance application No. UV 461, other than consideration should be given if the permit is granted to restrict the operations to the extent that no materials shall be piled higher than the eight foot fence which is to surround the premises, was approved. Plan for Consultant Parks reported to the Commissioners that Parking he had received a call from the Pacific Electric Railway Develop. asking for a plan of the proposed parking development now under study adjacent to their property on Ocean Avenue. Consultant Parks also presented a suggested plan for the future use of land for parking on the property adjacent to the Municipal Trailer Park and the possible use of the present Municipal Trailer Park for parking pur- poses after the Municipal Trailer Park has served its purpose as a trailer park. He also presented a proposed plan for a service road on the 52 acres adjacent to the highways border- ing the property. Resol.#25 Consultant Parks read Resolution No. 25 of the Set backs Planning Commission of the City of Huntington Beach re - on City questing the City Council to dedicate service roads on property the 52 acres adjacent to the State Highways. On motion by Kaufman seconded by Tunis that the Planning Commission accept the Resolution No. 25 as read which provides for set backs on the City property common- ly known as the 52 acres and that the resolution be pre- sented to the City Council together with the map outlining the set backs was passed and adopted by the following roll call vote: AYES: Commissioners: Tunis, Schryer, Kettler,Kaufman, Wood NOES: Commissioners: None ABSENT: Commissioners: Hinshaw, Pyles. 1 1 • C7 • 0 Page #2.
