HomeMy WebLinkAbout1953-07-27Ralph Welch - sub -division map MINUTES TES Council Chamber, City Hall Huntington Beach, California Monday, July 27, 1953 Pursuant to adjournment of the regular meeting of the City Council of July 20, 1953, Mayor Seabridge called the adjourned meeting of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach to order at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Councilmen present: Councilmen absent: Councilmen vacancy: Seabridge, Wood, LeBard Talbert -One- The Clerk reported to the City Council that at the regular meeting of the Huntington Beach Planning Commission held on July 21, 1953,.Mr. Ralph Welch presented a tentative map of Tract No. 1916, a sub -division, covering portions of Blocks 1907 and 1908, East Side Villa Tract, in the City of Huntington Beach, for review and recommendation, and stated that filed with his subdivision map were letters from the Southern California Water Company, the Southern Counties Gas Company, and the Southern California Edison Company, that utilities were available. The Planning Commission after study- ing the sub -division tract map presented by owner Ralph Welch, a motion was duly made, seconded, and carried, that the Planning .Commission of the City of Huntington Beach recommend to the City Council that the tentative sub -division map of Tract #1916 filed by owner Ralph Welch be disapproved'as the width of the Culdesac street does not meet with the require- ments of the sub -division ordinance and the alley width does not meet with the requirements of the sub -division ordinance, but in lieu of these deficiencies the Planning Commission, feels that the proposed sub -division is good planning and especially for that area along Highway #39 and asked that the City Council give serious consideration to its approval. The Clerk presented to the City Council for the Planning Commission the tentative map of Tract No, 1916 filed by Ralph Welch, owner. Minutes, Monday, July.27, 1953 On motion by Wood seconded by LeBard that the City Clerk be instructed to have inserted in the Huntington Beach News a legal notice, notice of public hearing, on the sub- division tentative map Tract No. 1916 filed by owner Ralph Welch and said hearing to be set for 6:00 o'clock P.M., August 4th, 1953,e Mr. Bell, representing Ralph Welch, owner of the property upon v�h ich the proposed sub -division tract is to be constructed, asked in behalf of I1fir. Welch what plans the City Council has for the development of Florida Street as Mr. Welch is now building a ready -mix plant on Florida Street just south of the proposed sub -division location. Wright St. The Clerk reported to the City Council that the Planning Ext. Commission of the City of Huntington Beach at a regular meet- ing held on Tuesday, July 21, 1953, reviewed the proposed Wright Street extension vvL thin the City of Huntington Beach city limits and after a review and discussion made a motion, duly seconded and carried, that the Planning Commission of the City of Huntington Beach approves the location and char- acter and extent of the proposed Wright Street extension as per right-of-way map referred to the Commission by the City, • Council, as it complies with the general character of the Master Plan of Streets and Highways for the City of Huntington Beach, County Sanit. The Clerk read a communication delivered by Harry Ashton, Dist. #11 • Purchases Legal Counsel for the County Sanitation District No, 11, land from City advising that the Board of Directors of the County Sanita- tion District No. 11 had authorized the payment of $365.00 for the 0.21 acre in fee, covering that parcel of land upon which the building housing the chlorination.unit for the City Sewage • plant is located and $510.00 for the 0.68 acre, to be taken by easement, which offers were in accordance with the action of the City Council at a prior meeting, and further informed the City Council that as soon as the easement and deed has been accepted, by the City Council and executed by its Mayor and City • Clerk that a warrant will be made payable to the City of Huntington Beach and -transmitted forthwith by the Board of Directors of the County Sanitation District Nom 11, On motion by LeBard seconded by Wood that the City of Huntington Beach sell to.the County Sanitation District No, 11 the O,a acre for $365.00 and said sale subject to reservation 0 of mineral rights by the City of Huntington Beach, was approved. • Page #3 Minutes - Monday, July 27 , 1953 On motion by Wood seconded by LeBard that the Mayor and the City Clerk be authorized to execute the Grant Deed for the 0.21 acre, was approved. On motion by LeBard seconded by Wood that the City, • accept the offer and convey the easement for the 0.68 acre for the sum of .$510.00, was approved. On motion by Wood seconded by LeBard that the Mayor and the City Clerk be authorized to execute the easement for the 0.68 acre, was approved. Geo.C.Atha oil The Clerk read the modification extension of oil and & gas lease as- signed to gas lease between the City of Huntington Beach and George-C. Pacific Sup, Cooperative Atha, and whereas the lesseels interest under said lease -has been assigned to the Pacific Supply Cooperative, an- Oregon Corporation,and said lease and all rights thereunder or inci- dent thereto are now owned by Pacific Supply Cooperative, and • that said lease shall be and is hereby extended to January 15, �9540 On motion by LeBard seconded by Wood that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to execute the modification extension of the Oil and Gas lease between the City of Huntington Beach and the Pacific Supply Cooperative, was approved. • . • Reso.#1197- The Clerk r ead Reso lution No. 1197, a resolution of the Accepting prop- erty for alley City Council of the City of Huntington Beach accepting purposes grant deed to certain real property�Y for alley purposes and authorizing recording of same. Overmyer, was granted.
