Chamber, City Hall Huntington Beach, California January 31, 1955 Pursuant to the meeting of January 18, 1955, Chairman Stang called the adjourned meeting of the Planning Commission to order at 5:15 o'clock P.M. Commissioners Present: Stang, Bazil, Presson, Schryer, Bardwell Commissioners Absent: Irvine, Davis Chairman Stang opened the public hearing on the Petition filed by R. B. Watkins, The Secretary read the legal notice of public hearing published in the Huntington Beach News, January Public 20, 1955, calling a public hearing to be held at the Hearing- hour of 5:15 o'clock P.M., on Monday, the 31st day of R.B.Watkins, January, 1955, for the purpose of considering a petition petition for conditional exception to regulations of the district - for cond. ing ordinance to permit the drillin& fo'r oil and gas exception and other hydrocarbons together with uses for commercial purposes as may be indicated on the property described as follows: SW-:'- of Section 13, TWP 6 S., R. 11 W., (330 feet north and 200 feet east of intersection of center line). The Secretary read the petition for conditional exception filed by R. B. Watkins, operator of Long Beach California, requesting permission to drill for oil and gas and other hydrocarbons, on the property described In legal notice of public hearing read by the Secretary, There being no written or oral statements made for or against the petition for conditional exception of Russell B. Watkins for permission to drill for the pro- duction of gas and oil and other hydrocarbons on the property described as the SW4 of Section 13, TWP 6 S., R. 11 W., approximately 300-feet north and 200 feet east of intersection of center line, the Chairman declared the hearing closed. On motion by Bardwell seconded by Presson, the Planning Commission recommend to the City Council that the request of R. B. Watkins for petition for conditional exception to drill for oil and gas on the property des- cribed as the SW-3-4 of Section 13, TWP 6 S., R. 11 W., and well to be located 300 feet north of Highway #101 and 150 feet east of Hampshire Avenue, was approved subject to the following conditions: Such operations and construction shall be in conformity with the Huntington Beach Ordinance Code provisions. Planning Commission January 31, 1955 The uses permitted shall not be construed as permitting rotary mud dumps, sumps or disposal, pettoleum refining or processing or storage of oil or gas in tanks exceeding 1,000 barrel capacity not to exceed 15 feet in height. All service equipment such as top of well, pumps, tanks, and the like, shall be at least 150 feet from the nearest portion of any public road, street, or state highway, and shall also be at least 25 feet from any lot line which is not common with a public road, street, or state highway line. Signs shall be limited to two in number and each have an area of not over twelve square feet. Motion by Presson seconded by Schryer, the adjourned meeting of the Planning Commission adjourned.
