Monday, November 21, 1955
The regular meeting of the City Council was called -to
order by the Clerk.
There being no quorum present the Clerk adjourned the
meeting until 8:25 o'clock P.M. this date.
Mayor Seabridge called the regular meeting of the City
Council of'the City of Huntington Beach to order at 8:25 o'clock P.M.
Councilmen presort: Terry, Lockett, Bartlett, LeBard, Seabridge

On motion by Bartlett seconded by Lockett, upon the re-

for the resurfacing of Thirteenth Street from Main Street to Lake Avenue,

Street to Springfield Street, Pine Street from Thirteenth Street to Spring-

On motion by Lockett seconded by LeBard the bids as opened
and read by the Clerk for the resurfacing of certain streets be referr-
ed to the City Engineer for analysis and report, was approved.
Mayor Seabridge asked If there was anyone in the audience
that wished to address the City Council.
Jim Sayer, Chairman of the civic Affairs Committee of the

Chamber of Commerce of the City of Huntington Beach addressed the

City Council and asked if there has been any action taken on the re-
quest for illuminating the Civic Center,
Mayor Oeabridge advised Mr. sayer the proposed lighting -

City Engineer Harry A. Overmyer reported that he analyzed
Sully -Miller the bids submitted for the re -surfacing of certain streets in the

Co. - awarded City of Huntington Beach as outlined in the notice inviting sealed
re -surfacing
contract bids, and the analysis shows that the bid submitted by Sully -Miller
Contracting Company, in the amount of $16,498.87, to be the lowest
responsible bid.
On motion by LeBard seconded by Terry in accordance with
the report of the City Engineer the bid of Sully -Miller Contracting
Company, for the re -surfacing of Thirteenth Street from Main Street
to Lake Avenue, Loma Avenue from Main Street to Lake Avenue, Park
Street from Twelfth Street to Springfield Street, Pine Street from
Thirteenth Street to Springfield Street, Elmira Street from Alabama

City of Huntington Beach held a public hearing on November 15, 1955
for the purpose of considering a petition for conditional exception
to regulations of the Districting Ordinance, filed by Russell B. .
Watkins, and the following recommendation was made:
"On motion by Schryer seconded by Davis the Planning Commission of
Russell B. the City of Huntington Beach recommendto the City Council that the

mud, dumps, sumps, or disposals, nor petroleum refining or pro-
cessing nor storage of oil or gas in tanks exceeding 1,000 barrel
capacity nor storage in any exceeding 16 feet in height above grade
of surrounding land.
3. All service equipment such as top of well, pumps, tanks and the like .
shall be at least 150 feet from the nearest portion of any public
road, street or state highway, and shall also be at least,25 feet
from any lot line which is not common with a public road, street or
state highway line.
4. Signs shall be limited totwo in number and each have an area of not
over twelve square feet. •
