Monday, July 30, 1956
Pursuant to adjournment of. the -regular meeting of the City
Council of July 16, 1956, Mayor Terry called the adjourned meeting
to order at 7: 30 o'clock P.M.
Councilmen Present: Bryant, Lockett, Irby, Bartlett, Terry

At 7:35 o'clock P.M. Mayor Terry requested the Clerk to
read the legal notice relative to the public hearing relative to
changing the use district boundary and classification as requested
by the Southern California Edison Company and upon which the Plan-
ning Commission of the City of Huntington Beach had held a public
hearing and recommended to the City Council the use district and
classification change.

of the.parcel of real property described in the notice of publica-

tion. The Clerk also read affidavit filed with the City Clerk by
the City Engineer in which the City Engineer swears and says that
he is now and was during all the times mentioned the duly appointed,
qualified and acting City Engineer of the City of Huntington Beach,
in the County of Orange, State of California, ,that on the 16th day
of July, 1956, the City Council ordered that a parcel of land be
re-classified .from the R-1 District to the M-2-0 District as con-
tained in the Planning Commission Resolution No. 38, and that in
accordance with Article No. 925 of the Huntington Beach Ordinance
~ Code, notices were posted conspicuously along the property de-
scribed in the resolution, one of which notices, similar to the
notices posted, is attached and made a part of the affidavit, and
that the posting of said notices were completed on the 19th day
of July, 1956, and thereafter made an affidavit and filed it with
the" City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach.
The Clerk reported that there were no verbal or written
statements filed for or against the proposed changes of use Dist-

Commission and requested by the Southern California Edison
Company,
the owners of the particular parcel of land.
The Mayor asked if anyone present wished to make a
state-
ment for or against the proposed changes in use district boundary
and classification, on the property described in the legal
notice
as read by the City Clerk.
There being no statements forthcoming from anyone
the Mayor declared the hearing closed.

way is to avert running the line directly over the well, which would
interfere with the pulling unit wherever the -well was -being serviced.
Mayor Terry referred the request of Mr. Richardson to the
City Council as a whole and the City Engineer for further study.

V.P.Lylyes Mayor Terry recommended and appointed Vernon P. Lyles, 1210

Plann.Comm. Orange Avenue,to-fill the unexpired term of Leland Valentine on the
Planning Commission.
On motion by Bryant seconded by Lockett the recommendation
of Mayor Terry appointing Vernon P. Lyles to fill the unexpired
term of Leland Valentine on the Planning Commission be confirmed
and approved. Motion carried. �.
The Clerk read Resolution No. 1284, a resolution of the City
Council of the City of Huntington Beach finding and declaring that -

On motion by Lockett seconded by Bryant Resolution No.
1284 was passed and adopted by the following roll call vote:

ABSENT: Councilmen: None
On motion by Lockett seconded by Bryant the adjourned
