Monday, June 10, 1957
Pursuant to adjournment of the regular meeting of
the City Council held on June 3, 1957, Mayor Terry
called the adjourned meeting to order at 7:30 o'clock
P.M.
Councilmen present: Bryant, Irby, Bartlett, Terry.
Councilmen absent : Lockett
Hearing -- Mayor Terry announced that this was the
Ea.- t Ann x-
a-ion time for the continuation of the hearing
to receive protests from land owners on the "East
Annexation", and asked if anyone present wished to
make an oral or a written protest.
There being no protests received either oral or
verbal on the "East Annexation", the Mayor declared
the hearing closed.
Ord.#666 The Clerk gave Ordinance No. 666, a
final re' -ding
second and final reading by title. An Ordinance of
the City of Huntington Beach relating to salaries
and compensation of officers and employees of the
City of Huntington Beach amending Sections 1591.23,
1591.33, 1591.34, 1591.35, and adding Section 1591.331,
to the Huntington Beach Ordinance Code.
On motion by Bryant seconded by Irby, Ordinance
No. 666, was passed and adopted by the following roll
call vote:
AYES: Councilmen: Bryant, Irby, Bartlett, Terry.
NOES: Councilmen: None.
ABSENT; Councilmen: Lockett.

Fire Dept. On motion by Bryant seconded by Irby, the

fireworks request of Wm. E. Rardin, Assistant Fire
display on
Pier Chief, for pei-mission to use Fire Department
personnel to carry out and assist in the transportation
in the Handling of fireworks for the fireworks display
to be held on the Municipal Pier by the Golden Gates
Fireworks Mfg. Co., on July 4th, 19570 between the hours
of 9:00 and 10:00 P.M. Motion carried.
So.Calif. The Clerk read a request received from
Edison Co. re:
easement Southern California Edison Company re-
questing a grant of easement from the City over a port-
ion of the North 200 feet of the South -j of the North-
west J of the Southeast a of Section 13, Township 6
South, Range 11 West, S. B.B. and M., lying within a
strip of land ten(10) feet wide, for the purpose of
constructing, laying, reconstruct, maintain, use, operate,
repair, renew and/or remove a pipe line for sanitary
sewer purposes in, under and through the parcel described.
Mayor Terry referred the request of the
Southern California Edison Company for grant of easement
for sewer and sanitation line purposes over City land
to the City Engineer and the Sanitation Committee for
study and report.
Reso. ##1311 The Clerk read Resolution No. 1311, a res-
olution of the "ity of Huntington Beach calling a
special election to be held on the 6th day of August,
1957, pertaining to the East Annexation to the City of
Huntington Beach.
On motion by Bartlett seconded by Irby res-
olution No. 1311 was passed and adopted by the following
roll call vote:
AYES: Councilmen: Bryant, Irby, Bartlett, Terry.
NOES: Councilmen: None.
ABSENT: Councilmen: Lockett.

A.H.Trester On motion by Irby seconded by Bartlett the
brew curb
request of A. H. Trester for permission to cut the curb
and install driveway at 408 and 428 - 14th Street and
said work to be done under the supervision and to the
satisfaction of the City Engineer, to be approved.
Motion carried.
Earle S. The request of Earle S. Nickerson and Bob

design, of fiber -glass construction, and said concession
to be located at the westerly end of the City of Hunt-
ington Beach was referred to the Beach and Pier Comm-
ittee for study and report.

Council and requested permission to place a coke
stand at the Chevron Station located at 5th and Main
Streets. The request of the T-Timers organization was
tabled for further study.
Accept invi-te On motion by Bartlett seconded by Irby

Ro,",man Post the City of Huntington Beach accept the

invitation extended by the Joseph Rodman Post No. 133,
of the American Legion, inviting the City to entertain
the distinguished guest on the Fourth of July, at the
Legic;n Hall, and said invitation be accepted. Motion
carried.

City Engr. re; On motion by Bartlett seconded by

purposes. Motion carried.
Contract prop. On motion by Bartlett seconded by

right of way strutted to contact the property
owners in Block 2505 and Block 2506 in the East
Side Villa Tract for right of way for alley pur-
poses, in accordance with plot plan presented by the
City Engineer. Motion carried.

mileage rate in accordance vvith present
standard practices in the County of Orange for
the use of tiis station wagon in the Building
Department during the period that the pick—
up truck in that department will be used for the
weed cleaning program. Motion carried.
