Bryant, Councilman Robert Lambert, Councilman Victor Terry, Councilman Noble Waite, Councilman Gentlemen, You are hereby notified that a Special Meeting of the City Council of the.City of Huntington Beach, California, is called for and will be held in the Council Chamber'of the City Hall at the hour of 12:00 o'clock Noon on Monday, November 24, 1958, for the purpose of discussing annexation problems and to give consent to file.desoription of territory known as midway City, to be annexed to the City of Huntington Beach to the Boundary Gommisfelon and refer to the Planning Commission for study and report. Waite, Councilman /s/ Victor Terry, Councilman" Petition for The Clerk read the petition for consent Consent to Comm- encement of Annex- to the commencement of annexation pro- ation Proceedings re -Midway City ceedings filed with the City at 3:40 P. M. on November 21, 1958, for the annexation of that certain territory hereinafter specified pursuant to the Annexation Act of 1913 and said territory is inhabited, is contiguous to the City of Huntington Beach and is situated generally as northerly of Heil Avenue, easterly of Huntington Beach Boulevard and Lincoln Avenue, as shown and projected, southerly of Hazard Avenue and westerly of Bushard Street, and legal description was contained in the petition and a map showing the boundaries of said territory was attached to said petition. Tracy Bragg, Thomas Albert, and Irving Youngjohn, spokesmen for the petitioners, appeared before the City Council and expressed their desire for the City to commence proceedings for the annexation. On motion by Lambert seconded by Bryant the petition for consent to the commencement of annexation proceedings be referred to the Planning Commission of the City of Huntington Beach for their study and recommendations, be approved. Motion carried. Mayor Irby called a recess of the City Council at 12:30 P. M. 2. T I PaEe #3 - r inut0s,,, November 24, 1956 The City Council reconvened at 12:50 P.M. The Clerk read Resolution No. 56, a reso- lution of the Planning Commission of the City of Huntington Beach recommending a conservative approach towards the annex- ation to said City of certain inhabited and contiguous territory designated as the Midway City Annexation. On motion by Lambert seconded by Bryant the City of Huntington Beach consent to the commencement of annexation proceedings in accordance with petition filed, and the City Clerk be instructed to send a letter of trans- mittal to the Boundary Commission of the County of Orange advising the Boundary Commission of the City Council's action and to attach a petition for consent to the commencement of annexation procedure as filed by the proponents, was approved by the following roll call vote: AYES: Councilmen: Lambert, Bryant, Waite, Irby. NOES: Councilmen: Terry. ABSENT; Councilmen: None. Motion carried. On motion by Bryant seconded by Terry the Special Called Meeting of the City Council adjourned.
