Monday, May 11, 1959 Mayor Irby called the regular adjourned meeting of they City Council of the City of Huntington Beach to order at 6:30 o'clock P.M. Councilmen Present: Lambert, Bryant, Terry, Waite, Irby. Councilmen Absent; None. Plann. Comm. Ltr. The Clerk read letter of transmittal - Re : Reso. #61 transmittal received from 1 the Planning Commission accompanied by Resolution No. 61p A Resolution of intent of the Planning Commission of the City of Huntington Beach to amend the City subdivision code, and that the Planning Commission held a meeting on May the 5th, 1959, and undertook the review and study of specifically pro- posed amendments as referred to the Commission by the City Council and a Public Hearing was scheduled for June the 2nd, 19599 pending preparation of the final legal draft of the proposed amendments. 1st Reading - The Clerk gave the first Ord. No. 723 reading of 0rdinance No. 723 in full, An Ordinance of the City of Huntington Beach relating to Fees of the Huntington Beach Water Department and amending Section 3530 of the Huntington Beach Ordinance Code. James Wheeler - Re: City Engineer James Wheeler City Policy, sub -div. & Sewer presented to the City Council for consideration as City policy, regarding sub-div'i'sion and sewer policy relative to sub -divisions, street sections, street signs, barricades, lighting, sub -division committee, Non -access and planting strips, improvements, structures, sidewalks, cross-guttera, curbs and gutters, sewers, water, street lighting, street trees, street signs, railroad cross- ing, fire alarm system, and as built plans. Agreement - City & H.B. Co. Re: trade or purchase City owned 11189 acre The Clerk read the agreement between the Huntington Beach Company and the City of Huntington Beach relative to trade or purchase of the City owned 1.189 parcel of land loc- ated at Huntington Avenue and Highway #101, and a parcel of land owned by Huntington Beach Company which shall be mutually selected and appraised by a appraiser who is a member of M. I.A. I. Agreement- City & On motion by Terry seconded by Bryant H.B. Co. approved the Mayor and the City Clerk shall be instructed to execute the agreement on behalf of the City and the Huntington Beach Company relative to purchase or trade of the City parcel of Land located at the junction of Highway #101 and Huntington Avenue, was approved by the following roll call vote: AIMS: Councilmen: Lambert, Bryant, Terry, Waite, Irby. Co. 1.189 acre On motion by Bryant seconded by Lambert the Mayor and the City Clerk be authorized to execute on behalf of the City, the -.dead conveying to the Huntington Beach Company, the 1.189 acre of land located at the junction of'Highway #101 and Huntington'Avenue, was approved by the following roll call votes AYES: Councilmen: Lambert, Bryant, Terry, Waite, Irby, NOES: Councilmen: None. ABSENT: Councilmen: None. City Clerk & Mayor On motion by Lambert second - re: Escrow ed by Waite the Mayor and the City Clerk be authorized to execute on behalf of the City and sign the escrow instructions in regard to the sale of the City parcel of land, described in the deed to the Huntington Beach Company', was approved by the following roll call vote: AYES: Councilmen: Lambert, Bryant, Terry, Waite, Irby. NOES: Couneilmens None. 0 ABSENT: Councilmen: None. - lst Reading - The Clerk gave Ordinance No. 724 its Ord. #724 first reading in full, An Ordinance of the City of Huntington Beach relating to Job Classification; amending Section 1577.7 of the Huntington Beach Ordinance Code, Extend beach road to City Engineer James Wheeler presented E'ly end of Mun.Tr.Pk. to the City Council plans and speci- fications for the construction of the extension of the beach road to the Easterly end of the Municipal Trailer Park. ` On motion by Lambert seconded by Waite, the City Council accept and approve the plans and specifica- tions.for the beach road construction as presented by the City Engineer, be approved, _Motion carried. 4. 258 Page #5 - Minutes, May 11, 1959 Hearin; �- hourly wages, etc. - Beach service road Mayor Irby opened the hearing on establishing the general prevailing rate of hourly wages for each craft or type of workman or mechanic needed for the construction and plant mixed surfacing of, a beachfront service road and asked if anyone wibhed to make a statement relative to the prevail- ing rate of hourly wages in the area. City Engineer James Wheeler reported that he finds the general prevailing wages as in- cluded in the resolution to be presented, are the prevailing wages in effect by the Unions and Crafts in the general area of the City of Huntington Beach and Orange County and said. rages are the proposed wages for the construction of the plant mixed surfacing of a beachfront service road. There being no further statements relative to the prevailing rate of hourly wages to be paid in the construction and plant mixed surfacing of.the beachfront service road, Mayor Irby declared the hearing closed. Reso. #1375 - accepting The Clerk read Resolution No. 1375, A deed to real property - _ — Resolution of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach accepting deed to certain real pro- perty and authorizing the recording of said deed. On motion by Waite seconded by Terry the Mayor and the City Clerk be authorized to execute Resolu- tion No. 13759 passed and adopted by the following roll call vote: AYES: NOES: Councilmen: Lambert, Bryant, Terry, Waite, Irby. Councilmen: None. ABSENT: Councilmen: None. Co. & City Agreement- On motion by Terry seconded by Waite Fire Protection the Mayor and the City Clerk be in- structed to execute on behalf of the City the agreement ex- tending County and City agreement for fire protection for the. fiscal -year 1959-1960, be approved.
