Councilmen Present% Lambert, Bryant, Terry, Waite, Irby. Councilmen Absent: None. .. City Attorney Bauer absent having been excused. Busihess Licenses On motion by Terry seconded by Bryant the applications for license to conduct business in the City of Huntington Beach as read by the City Clerk and as approved by the -Health Officer, Building Inspector, Chief of Police, Fire'Chief and Planning Director, be granted as follows: Motion carried. James Turner - On motion by Terry seconded by Building Permit Bryant the building permit appli- cation filed by James D. Motion , carried. a 4 . 1, 327 Page #2 - Minutes, July 27, 1959 Tidewater Oil Co.- On motion by Terry seconded by Waite Building Permit the building permit application filed by Tidewater Oil Company to erect a sign at service station being constructed at 321 Main Street, be granted. Motion carried. Term.-- Cleanup On motion by Terry seconded by Waite bond - Atlantic Oil Company the request of Atlantic Oil Company Miller -and Ford Miller and Ford for termination of the Fidelity and Deposit Company cleanup bond No. 7384596 for Well No. 18, located in Block 1706 East Side Villa Tract, having complied with Section 2448.1 of the Huntington Beach Ordinance Code.and the operator and -the bonding company be notified of the termination of bond. Motion carried. - Notice of Completion- On motion by Waite seconded by Lambert R:"J. Noble Co. in accordance. with the report and re- y i commendations of the City Engineer, final acceptance of the 40, contract work performed by R.J. Noble Company on Goldenwest Street south of Smetlzer Avenue be accepted and approved and the -City Clerk be instructed to file notice of completion with the County Recorder. Motion carried. Agreement County On motion by Terry seconded by Waite of Orange - Soil Tests the Mayor and the City Clerk on be- half of the City, be authorized to execute the agreement, read by the Clerk between the City of Huntington Beach and the County of Orange to provide for soil tests and material control by the County of Orange upon request by the City in writing. "totion carried. Virginia Johnson - On motion by Terry seconded by Bryant. Resigns the City Council accept the resign.a tion of Virginia L. Johnson, Senior Clerk in the Building De- partment to be effective August 15, 1952. Signal Oil and Gas The -Clerk read a letter received from Company - Municipal Trailer Park the Signal Oil and Gas Company where- in they advise the City Council.that they are agreeable to. relinquish the rights to further use of the Municipal Trailer Parka Drill site and are preparing the releasing instrument. 2* o r, 328 - Page #3 - Minutes, July 27, 1959 Frank Ciarelli - On motion by Bryant seconded.by, Equipment.Operator & Andrew Herskind - Lambert in accordance with request Skilled Worker of the City Engineer, Frank L. Ciarelli be reclassified -to the job classification Equipment Operator - Salary range 30 - bracket A and Andrew H. Herskind be reclassified to the job classification of Skilled Worker :Salary range 28- - Bracket A, and said job classification to, become effective on August'l, 1959,- Motion carried. James McKay - Employed On motion by Bryant seconded by Terry in accordance with the recommendation of the City Eng= ineer and the Personnel Committee, James Frank McKay be employed in the -job classification of Senior Civil"Engineer ing Assistant in the appropriate salary range and bracket and to become effective August 1, 1959. Motion parried. Advertise City Property On motion by Bryant seconded by for lease Lambert the City Attorney be in- structed to draw up a'_Iegal notice to advertise the City owned property of 41.44 acres located adjacent to Highways #39 and #101 for lease to interested developers, subject to present conditions of easement-s and instruments of record at an annual rental of six percent of the accepted- appraisal value and said advertisement to be approved by the City Council. Motion carried.' League of Cities On motion by Bryant seconded by Conference Lambert that the members of the City'Councii, the City Attorney, Administrative Officer and the Purchasing Agent be authorized t.o attend the annual League of Cities Conference to be held in San Francisco dur_, ing the period of October 18 through`, October 21, 1959 and expenses be allowed not to exceed -the amount approved -in the 1959-1960 City budget. Motion carried. - Demands - On motion by Bryant seconded by Lambert the demands as approved -by -the Finance Committee be ordered paid. Motion carried.
