Reso.,81 The Clerk read Resolution No. 81 of uniform planning fee the Planning Commission of the City of Huntington Beach as submitted by the Secretary of the Plan - ping Commission recommending to the City Council a uniform planning fee for all Conditional Exceptions and advocates that a filing fee for conditional exceptions in the Huntington Beach Subdivision Code be increased to $25.00 and request the City Council to hold a public hearing on the recommendation of the Planning Commis s ion. Llama Kiddie Ride- The Clerk read a request from Freeman Freeman -Clark Clark requesting permission to establish a Llama Kiddie Ride on city property located on the Northeasterly junction of Ocean Avenue and Huntington Beach Avenue. - P1ann Director The Planning Director advised the City Council that the area was not zoned for that type of business. Field work is now in progress and the work by the County is generally -scheduled to start April, 1960, and it will be necessary for the City Council to approve the agreement and authorize its signature by the Mayor and City Clerk. Agreement - Re: The Clerk read communication agree - Communication & Co,,, of Oranize went between the County of Orange and the City of Huntington Beach whereby the County owns, maintains, and operates communications system for public and safety communications, police, fire, and special ewer- gency service, and the City desires the County to establish remote control facilities in and for use of said City in the police radio service and is desirous of having same maintained under a licensed supervising technician of the County. Or.Co.Street Naming The Clerk read a communication from Comm Re: Beach Blvd_,., the Orange County Street Naming Commit- tee requesting that the City Council take the necessary steps to have the new name of Beach Boulevard placed in the appropriate locations within the City and notified the City that a majority of cities along the route and the present Highway 39 have given consent to the change from State Highway 39 to Beach Boulevard. On motion by Lambert seconded by Sork the City Attorney be requested to drawup the necessary document or Resolution to make the name change of Huntington Beach Boule- vard within the`City of Huntington Beach or Hampshire Avenue, to be named Beach Boulevard in accordance with'the request of the Orange County Street Naming Committee, be approved. Co. in L.A. Metropoli- Board of Supervisors of Orange County, tan Area California whereby they requested that all agencies and the entities in the.County of Orange which have not up to this date made a recommendation to join in the request of the Committee on Standard Metropolitan Areas to have Orange County included in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area. On motion by'Lambert seconded'by Waite the City Attorney be instructed to drawup the necessary Reso- lution requesting the committee on Standard Metropolitan•Areas of the Federal Government to include and recognize Orange County in the Los Angeles -Long Beach Metropolitan Area, be approved. Police Chief Re: the 'Clerk presented a request from purchase Military Bar- racks for Pistol. Ramee Clinton H. Wright, Chief of Police, requesting the City to purchase a one-story military bar- racks type building for the sum of $800.00 and moving 14. r ` t Page #15 - Minutes - December 21, 1959 same to the location of the pistol range recently leased from the Huntington Beach Company near Edwards and Garfield and said moving costs to be $2,000#00, foundation work $666.00, forms & finishing $530.00 or a total, estimated cost of $3,996.00 and pointed out the need for such a training center where both firearms training and police science training can be held is indicated when consideration is given to the distance and time involved in attending such training sessions at the Orange County Peace Officers Academy in the City of Orange. Purchase Military On motion by Lambert seconded by Sork Barracks approved that the purchase of one story mili- tary barracks type building as requested by the Chief of Police be approved and to be moved to the new range and training center located near Edwards and Garfield and the funds for said moving and construction be allocated from the Special Capital Outlay Fund Reserve, subject to the moving and installation of said building to be permissible within the lease between the Hunt- ington.Beach Company and the City of Huntington Beach, was ap- proved by the following roll call vote: AYES: Councilmen: Sork, Lambert, Waite, Irby.
