Mayor Irby called the regular meeting
of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach to order at
7:30 o'clock P.M.
Councilmen Present: Sork, Lambert, Waite, Irby.

ping Commission recommending to the City Council a uniform
planning fee for all Conditional Exceptions and advocates that
a filing fee for conditional exceptions in the Huntington Beach
Subdivision Code be increased to $25.00 and request the City
Council to hold a public hearing on the recommendation of the
Planning Commis s ion.

shall comply with the requirements of Chapter 36 of the Hunting-
ton Beach Ordinance Code.

District. Location, approximately 450 feet west of

hearing held.on December 15, 1959, by the City Planning Commis-
sion and after due consideration given to the petitioner's
request recommendation was made by the Planning Commission
upon a motion made by Stang seconded by Letson to recommend
approval of UV #184 with the following conditions:
1. W 184 shall expire after 5 years from the date of approval.
2. There shall not be allowed any excavations of a permanent nature.
3. There shall not be allowed any permanent buildings. An 8 ft.
by 17 ft office building and other minor accessory sheds -shall
be permissible.
The motion .was carried by the unanimous roll call vote of the
Planning Commission.

3. Because.of the nature of shape of the subdivided parcel,
the Commission agrees with the applicant in his conten-
tion that the requirement for an alley to service lots
14, 15, 16; would place harmful restrictions upon the
design of the tract in relationship to what the intent
of the ordinance was to accomplish, Restricted vehi-
cular access for three.lots only was not deemed to be
necessary in this case.
Said motion approved by the unanimous vote of the Huntington
Beach Planning Commission.
New revisionsgranted, On motion by Waite seconded by Sork
in accordance with the recommend&tions of the Planning Com-
mission that the New revisions of conditional exception for
tentative tract no. 3522 revised, be approved for reasons
outlined by the Planning Commission, be granted. Notion

Planning Commission of the City -Council relative to "Zone
Case No 109" with accompaning Resolution No. 84 of the:
Huntington Beach Planning Commission recommending to -the
City Council the approval of "Zone Case No. 109" covering
"parts of real property located on approximately 10 acres
at the Northwest corner of Banning Avenue and Bushard Street
in the Talbert Valley Area, legally described as the South-

zoned R-4 County Land Use Ordinance No. 351 as adopted -by In-

maintained under a licensed supervising technician of the
County.

the Orange County Street Naming Commit-
tee requesting that the City Council take the necessary steps to
have the new name of Beach Boulevard placed in the appropriate
locations within the City and notified the City that a majority
of cities along the route and the present Highway 39 have given
consent to the change from State Highway 39 to Beach Boulevard.
On motion by Lambert seconded by Sork
the City Attorney be requested to drawup the necessary document
or Resolution to make the name change of Huntington Beach Boule-
vard within the`City of Huntington Beach or Hampshire Avenue,
to be named Beach Boulevard in accordance with'the request of
the Orange County Street Naming Committee, be approved. Motion
carried.

all agencies and the entities in the.County of Orange which have
not up to this date made a recommendation to join in the request
of the Committee on Standard Metropolitan Areas to have Orange
County included in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area.

the City Attorney be instructed to drawup the necessary Reso-
lution requesting the committee on Standard Metropolitan•Areas
of the Federal Government to include and recognize Orange County
in the Los Angeles -Long Beach Metropolitan Area, be approved.

the Huntington Beach Company near Edwards and Garfield and said
moving costs to be $2,000#00, foundation work $666.00, forms &
finishing $530.00 or a total, estimated cost of $3,996.00 and
pointed out the need for such a training center where both
firearms training and police science training can be held is
indicated when consideration is given to the distance and time
involved in attending such training sessions at the Orange
County Peace Officers Academy in the City of Orange.
Purchase Military On motion by Lambert seconded by Sork

that the purchase of one story mili-
tary barracks type building as requested by the Chief of Police
be approved and to be moved to the new range and training center
located near Edwards and Garfield and the funds for said moving
