Special'Meeting of the City Council to order at 6:45 o'clock
P.M.
` Councilmen Present Wells, Lambert, Stewart, Waite, Gisler
Councilmen Absent: None

Special Meeting which had been received and given consent
to by the City Counci members prior. to 6:45 o'clock P.M.
on Sunday, September llth, 1960, for the purposes of
considering the sale or .exchange of land between the City
of Huntington Beach and the Southern California
Edison Company. _

City -Administrator The City Administrator stated that
the meeting had been called to consider a proposal and possibly
an alternate proposal by the'`Southern California Edison Companyfor
the acquistion of land needed in connection with their Steam Plant
project. Mr. Miller stated that Mr. Ralph Kiser, Manager of the
Southern California Edison Company was in'the audience and

suggested that he be called upon.

City, Manager of the Southern California.Edison Company, addressed.
the Council and introduced Mr. Walter C. Richardson, the Senior
Right -of -'Way Agent for the Southern California Edison Company..
Mr. Richardson Mr. Richardson informed the Council
that he had been in negotiation with Mr. Sol Deeble to acquire
a parcel of land of approximately three acres adjacent to City
owned land with the ' idea of proposing to the Council that an;
exchange might be made acre for acre providing the acreage
offered would be agreeable to the City lessee. Mr. Richardson ,
stated that he believed this property wotild be suitable for lease
by the City to the Oil Operators for development of oil interests
which the City owns undex the Edison Company Plant. Mr. Richardson
stated that his company had no absolute assurance that they could
work out the purchase of such land, and that they were also
interested that the acreage offered would be agreeable to the
City's lessee for their mutual benefit.
A discussion of the proposition
of the Edison Company and a review of the map presented by Mr.
Richardson, was made by the Council.

by the following roll call vote:

NOES: Councilmen: None
ABSENT: Councilmen: None
Reso. No. 133- A matter of Resolution No.
Recom. Zone Case
No. 133. 133 of the City Planning
Commission recommending of Zone Case No. 133 was presented
by the City Administrator. He informed the Council that
there was a matter of urgency connected with this zone
Case and asked that a public hearing be set at this meeting
in order to expedite the time involved.
City Attorney City Attorney Bauer informed

the Council that he believed
it would be proper and reasonable for Council to take
action in setting this hearing at this meeting.
Hearing Set- On motion by Stewart, seconded
Reso. No. 133
by Waite, the City Clerk
was instructed to set a hearing on Resolution No. 133 of
the City Planning Commission, recommending of Zone Case
No. 133, for Monday, September 26th, 1960, at 7.130 o'clock
P.M., or as soon thereafter as possible. Motion carried.

On motion by Wells, seconded
by Waite, the meeting adjourned. Motion carried.
