Mayor Gisler called the regular meeting
of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach to order at
7:30 o'clock P.M.
The Pledge of Allegiance was given by all
present in the Council Chamber.
Councilmen Present: Wells, Lambert, Stewart, Waite, Gisler
Councilmen Absent: None
Report. of Police On motion by Stewart, seconded by Waite,
Depart-, Receivee
and Filet the report of the Police Department for
December, 1960, was received and filed. Motion carried.
"r. Tet iV ams Mr. Ted Adams, 12520 Long Beach Blvd.,
Lic6n3e for
Falmistry Lynwood, California, addressed the Council
and requested that he be granted a license for the business of
Palmistry.
On motion by Waite, seconded by Stewart,
the Clerk was instructed to issue a license to Mr. Ted Adams for
the business of Palmistry, to remain effective until June 30th,
1961. Motion carried.
Santiage Girl Sc. On motion by Lambert, seconded by Waite,
Council - Cookie
S�+le the Santiago Girl Scout Council were
granted permission to conduct their Annual Girl Scout Cookie Sale
to
from February loth/March loth, 1961. Motion carried.
r. Co. Heart Assoc. On motion by Waite, seconded by Lambert,

the Orange County Heart Association were
granted permission to conduct their Annual Heart Fund Campaign
during the month of February, 1961, on condition that the solict-
tors register with the Police Department. Motion carried.
City of Hope On motion by Waite, seconded by Lambert,

the City of Hope were granted permission

in the Huntington Beach News on December 29th, 1960, setting
the hour of 7:45 o'clock P.M., or as soon thereafter as possible,

annexation to the City of Huntington Beach of that certain unin-
habited territory designated as "Northeast #3 Annexation", and

The Clerk read notice of public hearing on
Resolution No. 1442 of the City Council, as published in the
Huntington Beach News and the Westminster Herald on December 1st
and December 8th, 1960, setting the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M., in
the Council Chambers of the City Hall of the City of Huntington
Beach, as the time and place for hearing protests to the proposed
annexation to the City of Huntington Beach of that certain unin-
habited territory designated as "Northeast #3 Annexation."
The hearing was deckred open by Mayor Gisler.
The Clerk reported he had received no writtep
protests. to the proposed annexation.
There being no protests filed, oral or
written, the Mayor declared the hearing closed.
On motion by Stewart, seconded by Lambert,
the City Attorney was instructed to prepare an Ordinance approving
"Northeast #3 Annexation."

was presented by the Clerk.

were granted an extension of time in procuring the Performance,

striping of streets, whibh provides that center line striping shall
be done on local streets only when the following conditions
exist: 1. Curbs and gutters have not been constructed. 2. Stand -

the City, brought by the Pacific Electric Railway Company.

Attorney Bauer informed the Council that
this suit covered that portion of the P.E.R.R. Right -of -Way from
First Street to the Trailer Park entrance in the City. He
stated that the City was interested in certain easements crossing
the highway and rgilroad right-of-way, and certain parking meters
being operated on a cooperative basis between the City and the -
Pacific Electric Company,
Mr. Bauer stated that these and other
matters should be taken up with the State Highway Department and
the Railway Company, and that he had requested an extension of
60 to 90 days in answering the Writ on behalf of the City.
On motion by Stewart, seconded by Waite,
the City Administrator, Engineer, and Attorney were authorized
to negotiate with the Pacific Electric Railway Company and the
State Department of Highways to work out the problems involved
in the condemnation suit. Motion carried.

presented by the Clerk.
On motion by Lambert, seconded by Stewart,
the Engineer was instructed to proceed with the removal of Rest
Rooms No. 1, 2 and 4 at the Municipal Trailer Park site, using
City equipment. Motion carried..

Company of Buena Park was granted sign space on City property

Company were referred to the City Attorney for study and report
at the next meeting of the Council. Motion carried.
