Monday, April 3rd, 1961
Mayor Gisler called the regular meeting
of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach to.order at
7:30 o'clock P.M.
The Pledge of Allegiance was given by all
present in the Council Chamber.
The Invocation was given by Reverend
Andrews of the First Southern Baptist Church of Huntington Beach.

Reverend Andrews gave a beautiful tribute
to Mr. Clifford E. Tripp, Planning Director of the City of
Huntington Beach, who passed away on March 29th, 1961. Reverend
Andrews stated that Cliff was an industrious person, a worker,
an energetic person and very capable in his fieldcf service;
that he was a kind man, a good father, a good husband and a good
friend to all who knew him.

He was informed by the Clerk that the
Chief of Police had been out of town and that the Clerk and Chief
were unable to get together prior to this meeting to study the
matter.

and sixty eight dollars ($2168.) for equipment. Motion carried.
Pub,..ic Roaring Mayor Gisler announced that this was the

date and hour set for a public hearing on
Resolution No. 1469 of the City Council declaring intention to
vacate a portion of Huntington Avenue in said City and giving
notice of a hearing on said vacation.
The Clerk read notice of public hearing
on Resolution No. 1469 of the City Council as published in the
Huntington Beach News, March 9th, 1961, setting the hour of
8:00 o'clock P.M., in the Council Chamber of the City Hall,
Huntington Beach, California, as the time and place, when and
where, a public hearing shall be held upon said Resolution of
Intention to vacate said portion of Huntington Avenue at which
hearing all persons interested in or objecting to proposed vacation
may be heard.

on Zone Case No. 148 as published in the Huntington Beach News
on March 23rd, 1961, setting the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M., or
as soon thereafter as possible, on Monday, the 3rd day of April,
19611, in the Council Chambers of the City Hall of the City of
Huntington Beach, as the time and place for hearing protests on
Zone Case No. 148 relative to proposed change of district boundary
and use classification from R-4-Y Suburban Residential District,
adopted by Interim Ordinance 672, to R-1 Single Family Residence

acres of property located south of Wintersburg on the east

The Clerk then read the letter of
transmittal from the City Planning Director together with
Resolution No. 148 of the Planning Commission.
Mayor Gisler declared the hearing open.

pointed out on a map the area involved in this Zone Case.
The Clerk informed the Council that he
had received no written protests on Zone Case No. 148.
There being no protests filed, oral or
written, against Zone Case No. 148, Mayor Gisler declared,the
hearing closed.

Council approved the recommendation of
the Planning Commission in recommending approval of Zone Case
No. 148, and directed the City Attorney to prepare an Ordinance

City Engr. - Chargcs The Clerk read a communication from

the City Engineer requesting the Council
to consider a procedure for making additional charges for
overtime inspections. He explained the reason such charges were
becoming necessary, and suggested that they might set a rate com-
parable with that used by the City of Orange - thirty seven collars
and fifty cents ($37.50) daily, with the understanding that the

minimum charge of eighteen dollars and seventy five cents ($18.75)
would be made for any service of one half day or less.

seven dollars and fifty cents ($37.50) daily, with a minimum charge

default on her lease through non-payment of rent due for September,

he had been informed by the bank that there had been a foreclosure on
the barge and Mrs. Hummell no longer owned it.
