024 MINUTES Council Chamber, City Hall Huntington Beach, California Monday, April 17th, 1961 Mayor Gisler called the regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach to order at 7:30 o'clock P.M. The Pledge of Allegiance was given by all present in the Council Chamber. Reverend Harry Leland of the Wintersburg Community Methodist Church offered the invocation. Parker - Under oral communications, Mr. A. J. Protest Fee Char2�k Parker, 1012 Huntington Avenue, City, addressed the Council to protest the fee charged for his storage of a camping trailer on his own property. Mr. Parker stated that there were many people in the community who had such trailers and he felt it was an injustice to make a charge for such use of their property. The Council held considerable discussion on the enforcement of the present Ordinance covering trailer storage. A communication from the Huntington Co=unication Beach Elementary School District submitting the name of Mr. John Wyatt, Vice Principal, as first choice for appointment to serve as their representative on the Huntington Beach Recreation Commission, and. Action After some discussion by the Council, on postnonc_e, motion by Waite, seconded by Wells, action on this request was postponed until the new Ordinance amendment is presented to the Council. On motion by Stewart, seconded by '7rroinateC Lambert, Council ordered the lease terminated and directed the Clerk to send Mr. Dobkins a letter of appreciation for the use he had given the City of this property. Yacht "�'-�- -- --- --- Sales Company addressed the Council, and made a verbal request that they be permitted to take over the unexpired portion of Mrs. Hummell's lease. Mr. Hesse gave some background regarding the financial condition of his company and their ability to conduct the services required in the lease. He further stated that his company would assume the unpaid rental which was due by Mrs. Rummell for the month of September 1960, when the figures on which it is based are available. Leasc Council authorized the lease of Mrs. Hummell to be assigned to the Owens -Newport Yacht Sales Company subject to all terms of the lease, and the payment of any rent due by Mrs. Hummell; if figures cannot be obtained for the amount due for the month of September, the Owens -Newport Yacht Sales Company are to pay three hundred and fifty dollars ($350.) as back rent.
