Mayor Gisler called the regular meeting of
the City Councilof-the City of Huntington Beach to order at 7:30
o'clock P.M.
The Pledge of Allegiance was given by all
present in the Council Chamber.
Reverend Childers of the Community Assembly
of God Church offered the Invocation.
Councilmen Present: Wells, Lambert, Stewart, Waite, Gisler
Councilmen Absent: None

Street, City, relating to the employment of a Lifeguard Boat Operator,

Chapter No. 2, Blue Star Mothers of
America, were granted permission to sell flowers in downtown
Huntington Beach. Motion carried.

were granted use of Memorial Hall on two evenings per month with

Hearing on Zone Case No. 143 as published in the Huntington Beach
News on May 4th, 1961, setting the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M., or
as soon thereafter as possible on Monday, the 15th day of May,
1961, in the Council Chamber in the City Hall, Huntington Beach,
California, as the time and place for hearing on a petition for
a change of zone from: R-4-X Suburban Residential District as
adopted by Interim Ordinance No. 668 to C-4 District on property
located on approximately 1.25 acres, 330 feet south of Garfied
Avenue and west of Beach Boulevard.
Mayor Gisler declared the hearing open.
The Clerk read the transmittal from the
City Planning Commission together with Resolution No. 143
recommending approval of Zone Case No. 143.
Acting City Planning Director Harlow
pointed out on a map the areas involved in this Zone Case.
The Clerk informed the Council that he had
received no written protests to Zone Case No. 143.

the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M., or as soon thereafter as possible,
on Monday, the 15th day of May, 1961, in the. Council Chambers in
the City Hall, Huntington Beach, California, as the time and place
for a hearing on Resolution No. 1050 of the City Planning Commission
proposing to rename several local streets which presently conflict
with other street names by duplication. Changes of the list of street
names was requested by several local agencies, Post Office Department,
Fire Department, etc., in order to eliminate existing confusion.

Council authorized a refund to be made to the Evans Building
Company in the amount of five thousand eight hundred twenty
seven dollars and five cents ($5,827.05) from water fees and
six thousand three hundred ten dollars and twenty two cents
($6,310.22) from sewer fees paid by the developer. Motion
carried.

Contract Council consider the renewal of a
contract with the California State Personnel Board for cooperative
personnel services for 1961-62. Mr. Miller informed the Council
that there was w cost connected with the contract for this
service unless it were used.
