The Pledge of Allegiance was given by all present in the Council Chamber. Reverend Childers of the Community Assembly of God Church offered the Invocation. The Clerk read notice of Use District Hearing on Zone Case No. 143 as published in the Huntington Beach News on May 4th, 1961, setting the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M., or as soon thereafter as possible on Monday, the 15th day of May, 1961, in the Council Chamber in the City Hall, Huntington Beach, California, as the time and place for hearing on a petition for a change of zone from: R-4-X Suburban Residential District as adopted by Interim Ordinance No. 668 to C-4 District on property located on approximately 1.25 acres, 330 feet south of Garfied Avenue and west of Beach Boulevard. Mayor Gisler declared the hearing open. The Clerk read the transmittal from the City Planning Commission together with Resolution No. 143 recommending approval of Zone Case No. 143. Acting City Planning Director Harlow pointed out on a map the areas involved in this Zone Case. The Clerk informed the Council that he had received no written protests to Zone Case No. 143. The Clerk read notice of public hearing as published in the Huntington Beach News on May 4th, 1961, setting the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M., or as soon thereafter as possible, on Monday, the 15th day of May, 1961, in the. Council Chambers in the City Hall, Huntington Beach, California, as the time and place for a hearing on Resolution No. 1050 of the City Planning Commission proposing to rename several local streets which presently conflict with other street names by duplication. Changes of the list of street names was requested by several local agencies, Post Office Department, Fire Department, etc., in order to eliminate existing confusion. Gisler.
