Planning Commission Tuesday, November 7, 1961 ZONE CASE NO 207 - Continued CHANGE OF ZONE, relative to pro - Applicant - Teddy Oka posed change of district boundary and use classification from: A-1-Y General Agricultural District as adopted by Interim Ordinance No 672 to M-2 Heavy Industrial District. The following parcels of real property as submitted on the applicant's petition are described herewith: Approximately 20 acres located on the east side of Bushard Street, approximately 660 ft south of Hamilton.Avenue, and legally described as the S 2 of the NW 4 of the SE 4 of Section 18, T.6.S.1, R.10.W., SBB & M. The hearing was reopened to the audience; there being no comment, the hearing was closed. Commission discussion was held at length. It was noted that the Planning Commission held a public hearing on the matter on August 15, 1961, at which time there was one person who was opposed to the change. After con- siderable discussion the hearing was continued to September 19, 1961. On September 19, 1961, it was pointed out to the Commission that the property was better suited for M-1 zoning rather than M-2. The Commission then con- tinued the hearing to October 3, 1961, for further study. On October 3, 1961, a written communication was received from a representative of the applicant requesting another continuance to November 7, 1961. On November 7, 1961, the public hearing was held at which time there was no one to speak for or against the change. After considerable discussion, it was the concensus of the Commission that a lighter industrial zone would be more suitable for the area than the requested M-2 zone.
