M. w Time Mayor Ptedlem Gisler Mayor Pro -Tern Gisler requested the City Administrator to present the matter for which the meeting had been called. CitX Administrator The City Administrator informed the Council that in June, 1961, an.allocati.en was made in the Police Department for the position of Traffic Engineer, and at that time,Clinton H. Wright was appointed to the position by the Council. Mr..Mtll er stated that the status of the City did not war- rant the employment of a full time Traffic Engineer. He further stated that the position was desirable but that, in his -opinion, it should be handled under,the Public Works Department. Comm.. Chief Robidoux The -City Administrator then read a communic- Ten Serv. Traff. Eng.ation"from Chief of Police Howard Robidoux terminating the services of the Traffic Engineer, Clinton H. Wright Clinton H. Wright, 315 lath Street, City, !, addressed the Council regarding the duties of the Traffic Engineer, and the work that he had completed in this regard. He informed the Council that he felt that it would be bene= jficial to the City to retain a Traffic Engineer at this time. 'Chief Robidoux Chief. of Police Robidoux addressed the Council and stated that he had presented ':his -position in his letter to the Administrator, and that he felt ;the duties of Traffic Engineer could be handled by personnel of the jPolice Department. Mayor Pro Tem. Sugg. Mayor Pro Tem Gisler; suggested that it Mrs Wright „Resign might be in order for Mr. Wright to resign his position as Traffic Engineer. y -2- (4/20/62) 281 Page #3 - Minutes, April 20, 1962 Councilman Councilman Welch informed the Council 0'elch that he concurred with Mayor Pro Tem Gisler in this regard. '.fir. Clinton H. Wright Mr. Clinton H. Wright, again addressed Tenders Resignation the Council and tendered his resignation as Traffic Engineer. Resignation On motion by Stewart, seconded by Lambert, ,accepted the resignation of Mr. Wright as Traffic - Engineer was accepted, effective April 20, 1962. Motion carried. Special Meeting On motion by Stewart, seconded by Welch, Adjourned the special meeting of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach adjourned. Motion carried.
